NobleG1: ^^^^ It seems you know a bit about snakes but are you sure it is a harmless house snake? Some cobras have the same black colour and they are definitely not harmless. A juvenile cobra as small as the snake killed by the OP is perfectly capable of delivering enough venom to kill a fully grown man. Snakes are a vital part of the ecosystem but you can't compete with fear - the deep rooted fear of snakes - a fear that most Nigerians have and which wins out every time. 2 Likes |

Hmmmmmm. I beg to differ that it is natural. Don't you think it might be the witchcraft from your village? You better go start fasting and prayer to curb them. Hmmmmmm, scorpion and then snake, a word is enough.... |

adewaletb3:I've seen the black mamba. Several times. At Maiduguri. An almajiri tried to scare me with a baby one once when I was much younger. Then around 2004 at Ifite, Awka, I saw a dead snake which (I'm not kidding), was not less than 6ft long. Extremely black. I wasn't sure if it was a black mamba or Cobra. The grasses around the snake died as it decomposed. Real scary I tell you. |

odensibiri: That ain't no black mamba, black mamba snake is not black despite the name, it gets its name from the inky black colour of its mouth interior.. The black mamba islight gray in color. If that was a mamba, the OP would have ran off, they are lightening fast with deadly striking ability.. Just for the record mambas don't exist in West Africa, the are spread in Eastern and Southern Africa.. |
