Gptech: Before load: V:233 F: 52 - 52.8 On load: V:231 F: 51.7 - 52.2 These stats are same as when the noise was calm. Load is just Fridge, TV, Home theatre, bulbs. The sound today was worse. Just like a gen of more than 1year old. The white puff of smoke came out again during startup. Could it be oil? I use the yellow Conoil Golden Super. |

BuyAndSellStuff:Open the oil drain cover and see if oil pours out, if it does, then there's too much oil which can lead to the problems you face. You might also need to change oil completely, will advise total or mobil 20W-50. |

Hello. Please I'm noticing that my standing fans get hot and have a burning smell when I use my gen these days. I once saw the voltage go above the normal range and I tuned it down. Before theres any big wahala what can I do? Also, note that I) I rarely use the gen because I hate gen bliss. Only on my gen when NEPA has decided to starve us considerably. 2) so the oil is not been burnt up as it should at all I underuse the gen. Thanks |

Here are some tips on how to take care of your inverter battery: Always use a well ventilated area for inverter installation. The inverter battery gets heated up during charging and operation. An airy place reduces the heating up of the battery. It also reduces the frequent water topping requirement. After installation use battery on a regular basis. If the power cut does not occur, discharge the battery completely once every month and then recharge it. Check the water level of battery every two months. Ensure that the water level is maintained between the maximum and minimum water limit. Always top up the battery with distilled water. Do not use tap water or rain water as it contains excess minerals and impurities which affect the life and performance of the battery. Always keep the surface and sides of battery clean and dust free. Use cotton cloth to clean these surfaces. Keep the battery terminals corrosion free and rust free. If the terminals get corroded pour hot water + baking soda solution on the corrosive area or use a tooth brush for cleaning. This will remove the corrosion. Once the terminals become corrosion free, apply petroleum jelly or Vaseline on to the terminals, nuts and bolts to avoid future corrosion. Rusting and corrosion are very bad for battery performance. Rusting in terminals reduces the current flow to and from from the battery. This restricted flow of current results in slow battery charging which ultimately reduces battery life. Be careful that the vents around battery are dust free and open. Blocked vents lead to hydrogen gas accumulation, which may lead to bursting of battery. From safety point of view, install the inverter at safe places in your home which is out of the reach of children or a less used area. But at the same time make sure that it is airy and properly ventilated. Replace your battery if it is dead or damaged. Regular inspection will keep you updated on your inverter and battery conditions. Learn more: 07037451701 1 Like

Inverter beeping continuously: causes and solutions An inverter is an essential appliance which is present in almost all homes and offices across the world. This device powers our essential appliances in case of power cuts by providing back up. Inverters run on batteries which need to be maintained properly along with the rest of the unit. If not, then there are certain problems that can crop up in these devices. One of the problems which many inverter users report is inverter beeping continuously. The following are the possible causes and solutions for inverter beeping continuously that might prove useful. 1. The inverter is operating on battery power REASON: One of the common reasons for inverter beeping continuously is it running or operating on battery power. The beeping or alarm basically points towards the fact that the unit is transferred from on line operation to battery operation. SOLUTION: In this situation, the battery power supplied outlets have now become battery powered. 2. The inverter is in low battery condition REASON: Another reason for the beeping sound could be an alarm for low battery. This means the device may soon turn down and is an indication for you to charge the battery. In order to protect the device’s batteries from discharging too much, the inverter will be forced to shut down. Generally, the alarm rings for 2 minutes before shutting down but this time period can be changed too. SOLUTION: In order to stop the beeping sound or alarm, you must recharge your inverter as soon as possible. This might take a few hours time. 3. Capacity overload REASON: Another common cause for inverter beeping continuously is capacity overload. If the device is in overload condition then you will hear the alarm and must remove the non essential equipment. The alarm will keep ringing until you remove the extra load. Well if all things were simple in this world a 2 HP motor uses about 1.5 kw so a 2.5 kw power source would have not issue. But things are not that simple. There are many types of motors out there. Common A/C induction motors have a very large starting current and would be more than the generator could handle. That said, there are hard start and soft start devices that can be added to induction motors to reduce the start up current. If it is a DC motor, you won’t have that issue. |

fijiano202:Don't go and kill your generator oooo. The conversion you posted is direct mechanical power conversion, doesn't work like that in generators because of lots of losses. The Sumec Firman SPG3000E2 for instance has an Engine power of 6.5 HP but its a 3.5kVA (2.8KW) generator. If we go by your calculations, it means the SPG3000E2 is a 6.45KVA generator, even Sumec sef go fear . 1 Like |

WHY LEAD ACID BATTERIES DIE EARLIER THAN EXPECTED Inverters are extremely useful devices that help power our homes and appliances in case of power failures. We all know that they run on lead acid batteries. These batteries are essential to the working of inverters and hence very useful for our power needs. However lead acid batteries die earlier than expected in most cases. If you too are troubled by this issue, then you must know the various reasons behind it. This article will help you understand why through points which are described as follows: 1. Quality of the batteries One of the top reasons why lead acid batteries die earlier than expected is because of the battery’s quality. A better quality one might last for a longer span of time than a cheaper one. This is mainly because of the material which is used inside. Higher quality batteries have much more refined components which make them go on for a longer time. Therefore make it a point to go for a higher quality one even if it costs more. 2. Usage of the batteries The way the battery is used also determines the time period for which it will last. Lead acid batteries usually have hundreds of charge and discharge cycles. But when they are used more often, they tend to die earlier than expected. If however you do not use them that much, then they will go on for an extended time period. Thus lower down the inverter or battery usage as much as possible to get maximum life out of them. 3. Overcharging battery Another common reason why lead acid batteries die earlier than expected is due to overcharging. Learn more: mercurydirect.com.ng Contact: 07037451701 |
