dspecialist:
I have a 1.5kva inverter. Would a 2.5 kva generator be able to charge this conveniently?? Also which generator brand would you recommend between Maxi and Thermocool ? If theses brands are not reliable please recommend one.

yes 2.5kva gen will charge it
I prefer maxi to LG on 2.5kva

Hello prof enochogaga, God bless you for the selfless service you render to your fellow nairalanders. pls, could you kindly advise me on the following

I want to buy a gen and my budget is around 50-55k. I live in a 2bedroom apartment. I have a medium size fridge, 47 led TV, gotv, sound system, manual watching machine, 4 ceiling fans, 5 (26watz) white bulbs, 5 (60watz) coloured bulbs. I will charge a laptop and my phones.

Do you think a 2.5kva gen will work for me?

A gen seller advises me to get a Sumec Fireman 2500 which he would give me for 57k but the maximum output is 2.2kva while output is 2.0kva. He however advised that since the coil is 5.5 as he showed me the coil of other products like Elepac constant 3500 ( 2.5 kva rated gen) which is also 5.5 that the Sumec Fireman 2500 will be enough to serve me like any other 2.5kva rated gen. Do you think that is true?

What other 2.5kva gen product would you advise me to get within my stated budget of 50-55k.

Thanks so much for your anticipated response.

Based on your recommendation I bought this gen sometime last year and it has been a good product, it even power appliances dt other brand in it category won't power but however It's make a very loud noise (with or without load) while in operation.

My question now is, can anytin be done to reduce the noise or to make it sound proof? How much does it cost to fix/change the coil of this product?

can you provide answer to this please...

Thanks for your advice that you freely provide for forum members; especially the ones above on Maxi generators. I just came back from an electronic supermarket and a neighbour who happens to be working there was recommending same, saying it's from Korea, and very quiet. However, it's priced N98k. Anyway, my question is between ELEPAQ and PARSUN, which is more preferable? The two are in the range of N70k and 2.0kva and above. I'd be glad to hear from you.

Thanks Prof. for your advice. However, I did go out today, but I saw 2, 3 different types of Elepaq. One is red EC4200CX..2.5KVA, a yellow manufactured by CONSTANT-4KVA with wheels, another yellow named SV200E2 SENWEI ECOLINE...a 2.8KVA generator with wheels. I would just like to know is there any distinction between these colors? Which one of them is more preferable to buy?
Thank you

Hello wise one @enochogaga. Thank you for all the support you have rendered. Please i will like to know if an elepaq generator of 1.3kva can power a table top fridge with light power of 10w, current 0.75A and energy consumption 0.32kWh/24h. I don't mind powering just the fridge with it. I just want to know if it will work and not kill my generator. Thank you
