Dont you think that the global brand Sheraton associating its name to the hotel means that it will be managing it, bringing its experience in the hospitality industry to bear? Since you have visited the Burj and testifies that it is unique, why dont you take a trip to the Four Points by Sheraton in Ikot Ekpene, and see whether you will not also testify about it? Moreover, it will give you opportunity to know your country and fellow citizens better. #OneLove

My sentiment exactly. I'm yet to see a thread that will boost human development in Akwa Ibom state. Good governance goes beyond beautification of capital city and hotels. The hotel looks good and will boost tourism but to me I consider it misplaced priority just like the stadium except he is running human development policies alongside the project.

Was once in d city and after marvelling at how beautiful d city is, I had cause tto visit nwaniba(inside uyo) and it was a far cry from d beauty I saw in strategic places. Governance should be about increasing d lot of d populace not going on some fancy jumbo projects the common man won't benefit from... Truth be told, our leaders are massively shortsighted in governance, and i am sure that only a chronic village person whose brain has suffered severe setback or those who are narrow minded would praise this project, in a country like nigeria, we only judge politicians based on capital projects, how could a governor waste so much money in building hotel when the people are living below per capita income but we nigerians just like celebrating mediocre. Of what economic importance is that hotel to the people of the state, how will it suck up unemployment in the state, can it contain up to 2000 people in terms of employment, for how long can it attract foreign ivestor,

Mr Economics, today because of maybe how nice the hotel is or whatever reason, this news prompted the moderator to move this to the front page for free. As we are discussing Akwa-Ibom is riding on an enthusiastically fueled organic publicity, which am sure is driving curiosity.This state has secured a massive tourism market during the yuletide periods, the goal is to extend this tourism drive to other times of an annual calender. Naturally people feel inclined to invest in say Lagos or Abuja; i cant say same for Akwa-Ibom, hence the need for government to invest in these types of equities because hotels are needed to sustain a viable tourism drive.............like Dubai. But another part of the picture you may not see is the silent drive to sustain health and sports tourism.

Nice project Mr Akpabio. This is a good Internally generated revenue plan for the State. Aside that, it will
create a lot of jobs for the people as well. I wish this Man is the Governor of my State . He keeps attaining
new feat. Akwa Ibom Ayaya.

capital investment appraisal.......involves looking at d viability of a project...n d returns to be enjoyed...... .....four points by Sheraton is not special.... ....it is actually below Sheraton by one step.......in d same Dubai for example......I can count at least ten four points by sheratons.....so nothing special in wanting to travel to ikot Ekpene to see it....... ......for your info......there is one in lagos next to the palms shopping mall......very nice too and I enjoy going to d roof garden to enjoy live music.......on Saturdays and Sundays.....but to compare burj Al Arab to four points by Sheraton is a joke...... ....it's like comparing an okada to a Lamborghini........

Because it is Chinese that will chauffeur hotel buses, abi Indonesians that will work in these hotels......or maybe its aliens that will be exposed to world class hotel management which will set a benchmark in hospitality abi?How are his priorities misplaced ejoh?The hospitals that are already employing and will employ more health personnels?Abi the roads that will ease logistics and reduce the average cost of doing business in the state?In case you dont know an MOU has been signed with a Chinese company by Nsik motors to assemble buses in the state; all of which will ride on the immensely enhanced transportation framework (which inspite of all that has been done more needs to be done). A few years Akpabio was on KAkaki and talkednso much about his people doing menial jobs all around the nation. He illustrated with a story that when you enter some houses of the rich, it is Akpan at the gate, Okon as gatrdener or house keeper, Ekaette is the house girl etc. He therefore, put in place compulsory, completely free Education and ordered every citizen of the state in a comprised situation to come back home. Many of them did, so many of them did.. PDP, APC, Progressive or whatever way you look at it, Akpabio is one of the Top Performance in our political history.

In finance, there's a technique known as cost benefit analysis and I make bold to say that the costs(financial and opportunity wise) of this hotel, d stadium and many of such other projects ain't justified... Will u really prefer a contruction of an hotel to a siting of an industry? Why is it that u can only point to one industry in eight years? Brother, no one is hating... Just saying things as they are.... Keep sentiments aside

Hope you Knw akwa ibom state govt forcing Mobil to bring its Head office from Lagos to uyo since it has majority of its oil wells in Akwa Ibom . This hotel will be greatly utilised by most of the companies on ground . There are a couple of companies like seplat, Mobil , even J.Berger with a congested live camp will be forced to use it.

hotel of such are meant for tourists.... top oil n Gas companies will lodge their top executives @ that hotel especially when they come visiting which is much better than lodging @ d Hotel Presidential in PH which is now in a very bad shape especially with those aboki infront it.

Rome wasn't built in a day. You need a suitable environment for companies to come and invest. Guys pls take it easy, one step at a time . Akwa Ibom is undergoing transformation . Udom's vision is to industrialize the state now that Akpabio has created an enabling environment to woo investors. In the next four years we will be saying a different story at level higher than this . God bless AKS
