There is more to this...

I am sure some files got missing as well.

The money was planted as a diversionary plan to give a motive for the break in.

Listed among stolen and damaged items will be some files.

My guess is that Fashola is about to be blackmailed by Tinubu in dropping any appointment under Buhari.

Fashola is cleaning house.

This na politics. State MoJ for that matter. 9ja I hail. So those ad hoc staff don't have bank accounts? Don't be surprised if the money that went missing is only 300k or can be as big as 300 million. Truth is like a unicorn or pegasus in 9ja political terrain. It doesn't exist.

They should check documents properly. Some vital ones might have gone missing too.

Maybe somebody cannot trust Ambode to be subservient for long.

Suspected armed robbers have invaded Lagos State Ministry of Justice, Alausa Secretariat, Ikeja, carting away a sum of N3 million kept in the ministry.
Vanguard gathered that the robbers attacked the ministry’s Account Department at the early hours of Friday, through the ceiling, where they carted away the fund.
Sources said that the fund was brought in at the close of work on Thursday and kept in one of the office. The fund was raised to offset the allowances of about 40 ad-hoc staffs, working as mediation officers for the ministry.
Vanguard learned that inspite of the security officers attached to the ministry, none of the robbers was arrested. But the act was not discovered until about 9:00 am by a staff that raised the alarm to alert others of the act perpetrated earlier in the day.
When our correspondent visited the ministry, the entire doors were shut to avert any interference with the investigations.
Sources said that about 20 civil servants attached to the department have been detained by the Alausa Police Station for investigation and security officers.

Vanguard's reporters should know the difference between thieves and armed robbers. They came in through the ceiling - without anyone's knowledge and without threatening or hurting anyone with violence, took the money neatly, and left. How exactly are they armed robbers?

It is a c.oc.k and bull story anyway. The money was most likely misappropriated or outrightly stolen by an insider.

'Suspected armed robbers' is symptomatic of what Nigeria has turned to, a nation in suspicion of anything and everything. Where rumour and colourful tales thrive no thanks to the media that has refused education and advancement despite the huge potentials of commerce brought about by the internet.

To the point. Why not just report the incident as witnessed. In my part of the world they are simply known as burglary because all the evidence so far points in that direction. And until it is proven that they were 'armed' and they further obtained the money by force of arms, then we should leave it at that because according to the law the penalties for both differ as a matter of life for burglary and death for armed robbery.

FACTS HACKERS DON'T WANT YOU TO KNOW ABOUT YOUR PASSWORD

If there’s one thing that makes us so vulnerable in this highly connected, digital age, it’s ignorance. Sadly, many of us are ignorant about the thing we rely on most for securing our confidential secrets – our password.

Our lack of understanding about passwords is allowing crooks to spy on us & steal from us.
