This isn't about being selfish. Saraki betrayed PDP in the past, as one of the main mover of the Baraje led PDP which ultimately led to their loss of federal power. I don't think PDP should embrace d guy as they had d greatest chance to finish him today.

Btw where is Baraje?

They just returned the tambuwal favor back to APC- DAZ ALL.
They had a great chance to cause a historic tsunami in the National Polity

haba this aint baby politics nau...you need to think!....PDP knows that doing so will make Saraki return back to the APC camp and work out ways to impeach any senate president from pdp..the best shot is bargaining for the post of the deputy senate president...congrats to the east. though the chips were down, they still managed to clinch something.
Saraki going back 2 APC should b d last thing on their minds.
59(assuming they win Zanna's seat) APC senators can never impeach a Senate President in a house of 108 members.

Nope, they just made a well calculated move.
Subsequent events will open up the next chapter.

@ Op: there's still a long way to go. When you're running a long distance race, you don't expend all your energy in the first lap. Slow and steady wins the race. Saraki's time will come.

PDP didn't miscalculate , they kept to their word : When Saraki solicited for PDP senators' support He offered them deputy SP as a bargain tool, and both party obliged. I hope Saraki is not taking us backward with this action of SP & DSP from different parties. Saraki is surely a sellout, from ANPP then PDP and now APC. Am sure He will dump APC in 2019 for his presidential ambition. I pray d 8th NASS favours the masses with this current scenario

Oga who told you Tinubu can or will control senator Lawan? Bros we are not in old school politics abeg, case of Yar'adua, Goodluck, etc was an eye opener. Tinubu knows all that! He simply wanted Femi as speaker and knowing fully well that bukola winning the senate president sit will automatically deny the south west that opportunity

You mean colleagues that were far away waiting for PMB for a meeting he never scheduled in the first place? By the time the old men would have dragged their feet back, election would have ended.

Exactly! Even an attempt to impeach will cause so much rancor that APC will be seen as not being capable of internal democracy; isn't that waht the PDP wants to achieve all these while?

My assertion is that the PDP let a golden opportunity slide them by. Nothing would have stopped them from hijacking the process and installing one of their own.
As in ehn it would have bin a historic day...I guess they weren't just thinking in that direction sha

No, we are not selfish people. Give it to APC, they won majority. PDP earlier said they won't present a candidate for senate president or house speaker. They stood by their words
we now know the story has changed today. They're now anti saraki.
