The only solution is.......INCREASE THE FEES.

Yes....if you want good residential facilities in Nigerian universities.....INCREASE THE FEES....or privatize the hostels. Even if it means hostel fees of N150000 per annum....at least for a clean working toilet....it is worth it!

Education funding in Nigeria is not enough. If you pay N5000 .....you get N5000 toilet. Pay N2million....you get first class.

But I am not suggesting we pay N2million.

I am suggesting, however, that we face the reality. Nigeria does not have enough money for education. Either PMB finds an extra N5 trillion yearly for universities....or we privatize all of them, and focus all the saved money on primary and secondary education.And we can increase taxes while we are at it.

If you want first class....you pay for first class. Accept no substitutes.

exactly. primary and secondary education should be free compulsory andof good quality. on the other hand univeraity education should attract tuition fees. if u really good u get a scholarship f not u pay through your nose. the foundation of education anyway foraa man is the basics i.e the primary and secondary.

Reminds me of d good old days. Hmmmm..... @op u just refreshed my mind abt d hostel I stayed for four years. I stayed in HALL IV for 4 good years. I enjoyed d experience tho. From the hall arrows(nuisance) to the crazy potters who seized our beloved hot plates to the awkward electricity connections in every room to the mad ass crowd in d common room weneva dere's a football match showing....... HALL IV UNIBEN! A place I cnt forget in a hurry.

Proud Uniben student, stayed in hall 4 for three years, those bastards give me hall 3 in my final year, I still remember my roommates then soaking beans make it soft overnight then queueing in the morning to cook the beans with our rickety hot plate, until one useless porter sieze am break am 4 our presence.

aww. .this post made me remember when i was still in uniben...used to be in hall one nd trust me...d toilets too were as irritating as dat of hall 4...nd i remember hall 3 boys arrowing....cnt count d number of times i fell victim of dat stuff...expecially on matriculation den.....school of life
