ARE YOU DISOBEDIENT?
And he said, who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat? GEN3:11.
Just like little children, after their parents had told them not to go to the streets to play football, disobey their parents and come back home in fear and tears after they had injured themselves while playing football, and knowing that their parents will be angry for disobeying them. Only for their parents to ask them why they are crying - not knowing that they have disobeyed their commandment. This was the case of Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden, after they had disobeyed God, hid themselves from God's presence in fear. Are you not doing the same thing today? After forsaking God's commandment for your own pleasure, prolonging the time he gave you to do his will, using another way to do his will instead of the way he showed you- are you not being disobedient? God hates a disobedient child! Ask king Saul what it means to disobey God, he will tell you it's losing your place in God's presence. King Saul whom was loved by God lost his place in God's presence. And he became a useless man as an evil spirit replaced God's Spirit in his life, after he had disobeyed God 1SAM:15. Disobedience can separate one from the presence of God, It can also lead to untimely death. And Samuel said, hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams- 1SAM15:22. You may think as you are paying tithes, singing in the choir, preaching the gospel and sweeping the church premises without doing the particular thing he asked of you that you are doing your service to God. To tell you the truth, just as said in that passage: obedience is better than sacrifice! Before I leave you to think about the outcome of disobedience, I would love to brief you on the story of prophet Jonah. Prophet Jonah, after God had sent him to preach to the people of Nineveh, forsook God's commandment and flee to Tarshish from the presence of God. Jonah end up being swallowed by a great fish for three days and three nights. Thanks to God's mercy upon his life, he could have ended up dead- Jonah1. The result of disobedience can be very catastrophic, hence, you must do what he ask you to do! God bless you.

FLESH AGAINST SPIRIT:
For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would -GAL 5:17.
If you replace bible reading for novel, church vigil for night party, prayer time for sleeping, preaching for gossiping, I have to confess to you that you are walking in flesh. As a child of God it is very important to walk in the spirit before God. As we can only receive from him only when we are in the spirit. Don't be enslaved by the flesh! For the work of the flesh leads to sin. King Saul fell before God by yielding to the flesh. Ananias and sapphira also yielded to the flesh after they had first made up their mind, all by themselves to sell their possession and bring the proceed to the apostles feet. They sold the possession and kept back some of the money and brought a certain part to the apostles. This led to their untimely death! If you allow the flesh to work inside you, you will always fall whenever temptation comes. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God- ROM8:8. When potipher's wife wanted to forcefully sleep with Joseph, Joseph avoided her in other not to sin against God. Imagine if he had yielded to the flesh and slept with her. He could have lost the opportunity to become the governor of Egypt. In such a situation, an ordinary christian would have jumped on that offer without thinking twice. Many Christian today see it as an opportunity to fornicate whenever they are with a girl. They don't know they are losing their God-given glory to the devil, just like Adam and Eve did. The devil uses sin to take away your God-giving gifts which you have to throw yourself into much prayer and fasting to get it back. Say no to the flesh and yield to God's Spirit. God bless you.

WILL YOU BE READY:
The Kingdom of God is liken unto three women who went to the market to buy goods. The first went to the market and bought all her goods and return to the bus-stop where the bus will come and pick up the three women. The second went likewise and on getting to the market, she started gossiping and discussing earthly matters with the market women. So also, the third woman went and bought her goods, and on getting to the bustop, she remembered that there were other goods that she must buy, so she went back to the market. Finally the bus arrived and found only the first woman waiting and ready and she boarded the bus and the bus zoomed off, but the other women were left behind. My dear reader where will you be when Jesus comes back, will He find you waiting and ready for His kingdom? The first woman in the parable is liken to a believer who have focused his mind on getting to heaven. The second is liken to a fellow who after coming to the world, mixed up with the world and forget about his Creator, they live all their lives in sin; they dont care about the existence of God and about returning home. They are the ones the bible reffered to in Matt 13:15- "For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, and their eyes they have closed, lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, so that I should heal them". The third is liken to a believer whom after recieving Christ, got pulled back by earthly desires. Remember Jesus' word in Luk 9:62 "No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back is fit for the kingdom of God". Will you be ready and well prepared when Jesus comes back? How have you been preparing for eternity? God bless you.
