Well surely this is an interesting times indeed,

At about 2am on Monday, men suspected to be militants who operate mostly on the Calabar waterways, came from the sea and attack the Marine police station in Calabar, capital of Cross River State.

According to witnesses who live in the neighbourhood, the militants killed one policeman who could not escape alongside others.

The militants were said to have equally carted undisclosed number of AK47 rifles and other arms kept at the police station.

State police PRO, Hogan Bassey confirmed the attack by those he described as sea robbers but refused to confirm death of the policeman.

"It is true that the Marina Police station was attacked by sea robbers this morning. We are still carrying out investigation on the attack.  They only injured a policeman," he told journalists.

He also refused to mention the quantity of arms carted away by the attackers, or whether the police have succeeded in arresting any culprits.

Also on Sunday, armed men stormed the Airport parish of Living Faith Church and kidnapped the pastor in charge, Seyi Adekunle.

Condemning the incident, chairman Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Pastor Lawrence Ekwok called for their immediate release.
