In an unusual manner, Lagos State House
of Assembly newly elected member
representing Lagos Island constituency II,
Honourable Sola Giwa On Monday 15th
June celebrated his birthday but in a rather
humble and philanthropic manner.

Unlike many who would have chosen to
celebrate such event with the rich
colleagues, family and friends, Sola Giwa
instead celebrated his birthday at Massey
Children Hospital, located at Lagos Island.

During the visit to the children hospital, a
lot of gift items, relief materials and ‘Get
Well Cards’ were distributed to virtually all
the sick children he met at hospital.
Sola in his goodwill message reiterated his
commitment to ensuring he delivers the
dividend of democracy to his constituency,
especially in the area of healthcare
delivery. He said his team will be working
with The State government, NGO’s, NYSC
and pharmaceutical companies to improve
the health care facilities within Lagos
Island. He also promised to resuscitate the
19 primary health centers in his
constituency and as well renovate of
Massey Children Hospital Mother’s
bathrooms, among others.

During Sola Giwa's tour at the children's hospital, he came across two abandoned
children, whom he rather referred to as
government children. In his gesture, he
promised to be donating the sum of
N20,000 each to the two abandoned
children weekly.

In reaction to the good gesture of Hon.
Sola Giwa, the Medical Director of Massey
Children Hospital, Dr. Emekpae appreciated
the the newly elected Lagos Assembly man
for displaying a very rare act of humility
and humanity, describing it as first of its
kind in the history of Massey Hospital by a
Public Office Holder.

The medical director highlighted some of
the challenges faced in the hospital, of
which Hon. Sola Giwa promised to resolve
those challenges within his capability and
ensure he lobbies the government of
Lagos State to ensureother challenges are
addressed.

The birthday celebration was witnessed by
some party chieftains of the ruling All
Progressives Congress, APC in Lagos
Island, few family members, friends and
well-wishers.
