[size=15pt]The ideas by Ben Murray Bruce for the federal government to empower passing out Youth corper with money i.e N500,000.00 to start a business is commendable. I am in support of it and I would like the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari to key in into this.

I would want our various states and local government council to also key into this, it should not be left for the federal government alone.

Politicians are stealing all this money and if some large chunk can be budjeted into human capital development, I am totally in support of it.

The problem with Nigerians is the need for handouts. Why oh why would anyone consider this as an option. He is assuming that all graduates are responsible and will utilize these funds as intended. Where in God's name would the funds come from anyway? I must say my respect for ben bruce is seriously waning. He is either becoming senile or he is already senile. Either way, he seems to understand Nigerians perfectly. Keep their mouths watering and you can feed them shite constantly.

Give the youths an enabling environment to succeed and dont give them money, how do you give money to someone that have no idea of business to do business.

I know businesses that have collapsed less than three years after taking loans more than 2 million naira. Poor business management wasnt the cause of fold up nor was proper planning. Too much govt taxes and lack of basic social infrastructures was responsible. Senator Ben Murray, pls when the senate resumes, try and ensure that laws that are entrepeneursip friedly are passed. Getting a loan or sourcing start up capitals are easy to get these days if the individual involved knows his onions. I know individuals that are regularly chased by bankers to take loans worth 4 million naira in Idumota, but they decline (some of them are not graduates). Our law makers do need re-orientation.

Currently, With Batch A, Batch B and Batch C corp members yearly will translate to about 200,000 corp members yearly.
Giving each 500,000 naira will require 100billion naira yearly to implement.

National assembly yearly budget of less than 500persons is 120billion in 2015.

Though this idea is feasible financially, it will not translate to progress.
More than 90% of the corp members will spend the money on phones, tablet, babes, clothes etc.
only 10percent will try and invest out of which only 5percent will succeed and the rest will fail.

I will suggest the 100billion be made a fund where corp members can take a loan of 500k interest free with repayment plan.
To get the loan, a proper business plan have to be presented before the fund administrators.

i bet you if i give you 5 million that doesnt mean you will be successful many people always think all they need is money to start a business, if you have ever started a business you will understand, and why on earth will i be jealous of N500,000 for crying out loud, when i know it will benefit some of my family members but thats my opinion it will kill our youths and make them lazy. You dont give people money to start a business you can only support them when they have started something thats my opinion
