Pls Can i pay with a GTB mastercard coz i had a problem with my UBA visa Mastercard during my application. And does the card require a specail account like domicilliary. |
Re: General U.S.A (student) Visa Enquiries by nnamdistan: 2:37pm On Jun 01, 2011 |
It has been said previously that you cannot pay with credit card o! See below a reply I got from SEVIS that validates that: Currently we are not able to accept credit or debit card payments. We do not yet know when we will be ready to again accept credit card payments on www.fmjfee.com. However, payments can be done via certified check, money order, or western union transfer. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause and will let you know when this service is reinstated. You can pay by check/money order or by Western Union Quick Pay. For the I-901 form and instructions on paying by check or money order please see: http://www.ice.gov/doclib/sevis/pdf/I-901.pdf If you go on this page you will be able to see the examples on to Fill out a Western Union Quick Pay Form. http://www.ice.gov/sevis/i901/wu_instr.htm Right now, I am still trying to hustle for the money lol, not to talk of someone who will pay for me. Kai, if I get there, I will start SEVIS fee payment business |
Re: General U.S.A (student) Visa Enquiries by totful: 3:29pm On Jun 01, 2011 |
Just to add to the SEVIS fee payment: If your SEVIS number indicates Nigeria, it will not accept credit or mastercard payment. Western union quickpay is unavailable in Nigeria, unless you go to Ecobank at Seme border, already described in previous posts by members. But I used GTBank's international cheque (but u need to have a domicilliary account ( or use someone who has). You'll be charged $10 for the bank cheque. I mailed mine thru Fedex and it has beeen acknowledged on their website thru "check status". So I think if you are not in Lagos or do not have who will do Western union quickpay for you abroad, then a bank cheque is your best bet ( may be more expensive though). |

Re: General U.S.A (student) Visa Enquiries by imperiouxx(m): 12:23am On Jun 02, 2011 |
syndikate: Answers: 1) Secure a date for July now not that you wait till July before searching for dates. Even now, you must be fortunate to get July. 2) Where actually have you worked? Just say where you've worked irrespective of how big or small it is. It depends on how well you can convince the VO about your job with the company. |
Re: General U.S.A (student) Visa Enquiries by syndikate: 12:34am On Jun 02, 2011 |
@imperiouxx, tanks 4 ur responce. 1. Re: General U.S.A (student) Visa Enquiries by imperiouxx(m): 12:45am On Jun 02, 2011 |
syndikate: Those dates don't last long before they are picked. Be watchful so that when you notice July, you quickly go for it. I'm sure you will get July dates now or very soon. |

Hello y'all, been reading posts from here and it's been awesome. I have also had the discretion to separate facts from scums being said here. Overall, I think this site is very helpful. I am a potential fall applicant also. I would like to chip just something very lil'-no offence to any one. Please, when we pass info, let us be accurate with it. I have seen a lot of people pass the wrong information here. I am privileged to always be online and I get a lot info from the internet too (Thank God for internet and google). Often, people ask questions here that they could easily find for themselves on the US embassy website. @ syndikate in particular, it says that a visa can be issued to a student at least 120 days to resumption. Furthermore, you can only enter the USA only at leas tas from 30 days to yr resumption. I will advise that You have your i20 nos sent to you by email (the nos I said) cos I have also not received mine, but so as to book a date early, I had the school email me the nos while the hard copy was posted last fri. I booked my date last fri and for abuja, the earlies date I got was august 8 . Pls, I would advise you to book ASAP before the dates all get filled. aight? ALL the best y'all and again, lets verify info before we post them here. You can't be issued a Visa 6 months to resumption. Only 120days(4months) to resumption |

Re: General U.S.A (student) Visa Enquiries by imperiouxx(m): 8:42pm On Jun 02, 2011 |
mysterysng: We are all giving same good advance to the guy. Note all those bolded statements imperiouxx: He was told to secure a date now and that getting June or July for now thats only if he is fortunate enough to see those days which some other people canceled. anfanio: I would think anfanio is saying one can show up at the embassy even 6 months before resumption and still be attended to either given or denied. Still one can't be asked to go back for its too early. At the end, he also advanced him to get a date now. |
Re: General U.S.A (student) Visa Enquiries by Tonytone: 10:03pm On Jun 02, 2011 |
@next2tx I really do not know if your question has been answered. But this is the fact. All you need to fill is the DS160 form. Please, like i told told you before, be very careful what you fill in. Biodata is very important. Never fill in things that you arent sure of or do not have a 100% defense proof answers for. What you need to hand over to the IO is just your I-20, Admission Letter and SEVIS. Every other documents will be asked for if needed by the IO. Goodluck buddie |

Hmmmmm, i feel very happy with the Good News, wish all the fall applicants success, i lost my password and just retrieved it, i'm so sorry i've been gone for too long, Now i'm here, back and better, smiles. As the tradition of this thread, i'm back to answer questions, because i was answered also. At the other hand, @House: Please when is the earliest date when one can get into the U.S once you have your visa and your school haven't resumed? Must one wait for the school to resume before leaving and how soon could one leave |
Re: General U.S.A (student) Visa Enquiries by Tonytone: 10:26pm On Jun 02, 2011 |
@SMOOTSAIL You can enter into the USA exactly 1 month before the commencement of your program as long as you have your visa. Congrats |
