Super Eagles captain, Vincent Enyeama has explained that he was not officially asked to attend a Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) disciplinary committee on Tuesday.

The NFF feels that Enyeama was in breach of its code of conduct.

The goalkeeper made “uncomplimentary remarks” about security in Kaduna ahead of June’s 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Chad.

“I respect my country and those in charge of our football, which is why I find the whole thing strange,” he said.

“As the captain I only raised our concerns about the venue before our game which didn’t go down well with the football authority.

“I was told to apologise for my comments, which I did immediately and they told me that’s fine.”

But the 32-year-old, who is the Super Eagles most capped player with 101 appearances, denies he failed to reply to messages from the NFF seeking an explanation for his comments.

Enyeama erred, the choice of Kaduna is political and he should have seen it from that angle. NFF just wanted to rotate Eagles' game across all regions. This gesture had harmed us before but we never learn.

Since Enyeama is our best for now without any replacement in sight, a lengthy ban is unhealthy. He should be fined and NFF should let the matter die

How can they take the venue to kaduna when there are other venues that are better off given the record of insecurity in the north...

nff as usual, very mediocre in their approach to issues, must the issues with keshi and enyeama be a media issue? why not sort it out with the player in private instead of making it a media campaign.

Truth be told Enyeama has nothing to loose, here, nff keeps forgeting that Nigeria no longer have talents like before in today's football, they have forgotten the time of siasia where he had issues with enyeama and kick him out of the team only for us to miss out on the nations cup of 2012.

By the time we fail to qualify again, they will turn around and lie to Nigerians that our coaches lack technical depth.

NFF STOP KILLING OUR FOOTBALL!!! if you want to discipline a player that has erred, go ahead and stop the media campaign, its killing our football but you are not concerned as far as your kickbacks are intact just like the folks at the National assembly, what a SHAME!!
