THE CRIMINAL SILENCE OF BUHARI
During the Obasanjo presidency, a
Nigerian was sentenced to having one of his
hands chopped off under sharia law, and
the whole country rose up to condemn it.
Presidency officials addressed the nation
on it. The Attorney General addressed
the press. President Obasanjo himself
addressed the nation within days.
During this present regime, 9 Nigerians
have been sentenced to death under
sharia law for the crime of 'insult'!
Its now been a week. No single comment
from the Buhari Presidency. Nigerians are
relatively quiet. Even the press seems to
have gone to sleep.
Is it that we consider a hand more
valuable to the whole life? By this strange
silence, is Mr Buhari approving this
strange descent to crude barbarism??
Not that I approve the insult of prophet
Mohammed or Jesus or any other person.
But why should anybody in a civilised
society be put to death for insulting
another person?
If Mallam El Rufai is still alive today for
insulting Jesus, why should any Nigerian
be killed for reportedly insulting
Mohammed or any person ?
Is this a foretaste of what we are to
expect under this administration? Would
the lives of Nigerians be so cheap?
Is Nigeria fast joining the class of
Afghanistan , Pakistan, Iran etc where
citizens are killed by stoning for the crime
of insult?
I strongly and call on president
Muhammadu Buhari to make a policy
statement on this, lest Nigerians begin to
take his silence as a bold statement of
approval.
His silence is dangerous and confusing .

I opened a hashtag #SaveKanoNine on twitter and facebook towards this, the most painful thing is that the Kano government just gave credence to the ruling saying it will serve as deterrent to others, SMH

It is not a Buhari thing anyway, let's not nail PMB so early

It is well

Op to ur question yes this is the Foretaste of what we are expected to go through this new government. This is also what you get when half of the people has no idea of what they want. "CHANGE "they want is here.
