Couple of years ago in China, a traffic jam that lasted over 10 days kept commuters in a gridlock on a road spanning 100km. Even at that, the traffic was so organized without drivers misbehaving as it is synonymous to the traffic in Lagos and other cosmopolitan cities in Naija. Can we be (for once) organized like this in Nigeria? Source: www.facebook.com/Rj Rijin

Nigeria newspapers be like ***man slump and dies after 3rd continues day of traffic standstill*** ***governor ambode visited the location of the said traffic lockdown in his helicopter to access the situation*** ***President Buhari says @72 there is little he can do about the matter...he therefore ordered ambode to get the situation under control immediately*** ***Ohaneze Igbos forum has given governor ambode a 3 days ultimatum to solve this problem else......(Fill in the blanks) *** ***Oba akiolu has attributed the current traffic jam to the work of Igbo boys selling gala and lacasera in traffic. Punch has reliably gathered that business has been booming for these boys and many more has joined them*** 27 Likes 1 Share |

you can't compare China to Nigeria, can't you see their roads? if Nigeria have that type of road, do you think dafor drivers will fight everyday? it is this kind of comparison that is killing our country, that makes people only see the bad side of it. look little China, who thought they would grow this big and become a great country? if the governments can develop our county like this, which matured man in his senses will come out of his car and fight? we need good leadership and positive acknowledgement for Nigeria to move forward else, nothing good will come out of this country. 7 Likes |

Ginaz:I will disagree with you on this one. A nation that aspires to be developed will always look forward to gaining giant strides as the devloped ones and not compare itself with countries like Zimbabwe or Haiti (apologies to these countries). Secondly, the road infrastructure doesn't affect the psyche of the road users to drive irrationally (even when deplorable ). Indiscipline is what you see on our roads as we flout various traffic signs and signals. We must have a change of attitude towards disobeying traffic rules 1 Like |

phayvoursky:To a very large extent the places you mentioned do have a fair organized traffic flow. However, not all the time. You still cross your path with impatient drivers who don't give a hoot. Lekki-Ajah is a thorough example. |

A rudderless nation built on pivotal point of evil can not achieve anything. If you doubt it state what they have achieved in 100yrs apart from killing, genocide, sacking of villages, mind boggling corruption. |

Nigerians! Always expecting harvest where they didn't plant. Yes! This can happen IF: 1. Traffic police and road safety do their jobs consistently for 5 years without cases of bribery 2. Police officers who are reported for bribery are investigated and jailed or sacked if found guilty 3. Traffic offenders are processed and punished for the offence committed without bribery involved |

But this traffic didn't just happen recently na. It is actually on record and simple search from Google will show it. We should try and authenticate the kind of news we spread. And funny enough, this topic may hit FP. |
