It's a good thing UI is ranked among the top 10, It would have been better for us to be on the top 3 while the best would have been for us to conquer Africa academically by dominating the top 10.
Secondly, guys should grow up and stop talking shit like, there are only 2 universities, Unn and others or unilorin and others. That's too common, it's being said in every school.
Lastly, since the bulk of the total factor is based on research, then our schools should do more of it after all they are established for both teaching and research.
Congratulation once again to my alma mater but UI and other schools can do way better than this.

Its a good thing though as it enables our schools IT dept to put in their best but its not worth attaching so much importance.

Don't be deceived. To me, ''Visibility on the internet'' as a criterion for ranking schools casts some doubts on the credibility and integrity of the ranking.
What about the quality of teaching, facilities, students performance, teacher to student ratio, lecturers from foreign schools, number of lecturers on sabbatical, library facilities, studying and living conditions etc which are more important

The 'African Challenge'' competition organized by Zain a few years back is a clearer indication of the standards of education in Africa. Students from the best Nigerian universities e.g. UI, OAU etc were dusted and outclassed by students from very young universities from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania etc

You are such a saddist. Abeg who won the first edition where 9ja universities were included, UI of course. So I don't get ur argument. Its a challenge, u don't expect UI to win it all the time.

My submission was simply that it is insane to value ranking based on web prescence than ranking based on research. Why are u dragging unilorin into this. You are indeed not a good ambassador of the 'better by far' school

Most ppl would still make jest of private uni's,for covenant wch is jst less than 20yrs of age to be competing with schools established even before my father was born then what's d difference?
