I have been following your comments and am getting interested in the onion business. Where is the market and how much will a 100Kg bag of onion cost for PH and how much profit margin should I be looking at for 50 to 100 bags? Besides onion what other commodity can i bring to PH from the north?

Don't know how much a bag cost in PH presently .. but I assure you of good profit...

a bag of onion in kebbi as of yesterday is 4k ... which mite cost thrice in ph...

but u av to put d cost of transportion into consideration as well

You said a bag is 4k, Transport to Lagos per bag is 3k. My question is, what is the price per bag in Lagos markets e.g Mile12? Do you think 100k will produce enough ROI?

in mile 12 onions is very cheap now. It also depends on the time you are bringing in your stuffs.

You have to. My simple advice is don't give anyone your money except you know n trust such person. I guess u must have read about the scammed persons on this forum about the same onion biz..

I have done research on the price of onion as I promised and the result are as follows
For those that want to supply to Abuja, Gada market and Alero market in Sokoto are the closest maekets to buy and the price of a bag is 5000
For those that want to supply to Lagos, PH and Onitcha the best market to buy is Garanyo market in Borno and the price is 3500-4500.
Why I give specific market for different towns is that those are the routes of the trailers that are loading onions from the markets

The current price of onion (100kg brown sack) is N8,500 and the transport fare to Lagos is N1,400(N1,300 for transport and N100 for the labour who will put those bags to the truck). The total cost of onion is N9,900.
The current price of 100kg onion at Mile 12 is N13,000.
Once the truck gets to the Market, the onion traders won't allow you to take it out of the market. They will buy those bags immediately from you and you seal up your transactions.

From my findings here in Lagos, most onions coming to Lagos is from Sokoto state, do your findings very well there, aliero onions is around February , I may be wrong ooooo
