Saw this post on Facebook. Engr Abubakar A. Bulama: Boko Haram did not seize Maiduguri - Damaturu road as being speculated. TCN staff went to Benisheikh in an attempt to restore power supply to Maiduguri as an alternative source to the Damboa line. On there way coming out of the bush with the military escort, the Soldiers at Benishiekh thought they were BH members and opened fire on them. This happened due to lack of communication on the part of Soldiers that escorted them to those of Benishiekh that they were going into that place for work. The rest is now history. May the soul of our driver that lost his life rest in peace. |
