Diplomacy is LESS complicated than politics and the peculiar ceremonial PROTOCOLS can be learned/ advised by career diplomats to the political appointee who represents the country & its president simultaneously.

The above has justified the directive, so no one should see this as victimization, whatsoever. At least, a highest ranking officer at the various affected locations can man the affairs of the commissions pending when good replacements would be made to occupy those seats.

Ambassadors do not need to be career diplomats. They can be successful politicians cum business men. The father of the Kennedys was America's ambassador to the UK at some point, if I am not mistaken. The current US Ambassador to the UN, Susan Rice is also not a career diplomat.

The career diplomats are like Perm. Secs to political Ambassadors.

They don't have to be career diplomats in the employ of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, but those that understand the dynamics of diplomacy and understand the history of the countries they are serving in. A graduate of international relations, history, political science or public administration can fit here.

That's the way to go. Change sweeping across. Slowly but surely

Diplomacy is not what you leave to those that are not professionals. Take the US, for example, while the SGF is the first to be appointed by a new President in Nigeria, the Secretary of State, their own foreign affairs minister is the first. Have you heard any of Secretary of State that is not an expert in diplomacy and can't speak foreign languages? I listened to the Secretary of State recently speak French.

This is awesome! They should come back n give people in that line of job a chance to grow. How can we ve so many non career ambassadors? A few myt b alryt not this many.
