New Chief of Army Staff‎, Major-General Tukur Buratai on Thursday said he would spend the Eid-el-Fitri holidays wit‎h men of Nigerian Army battling Boko Haram in Damaturu Yobe.

Buratai, who held a closed door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the presidential villa for the first time after his appointment, said he was at the villa to receive further briefing on the direction of the federal government regarding tackling the insurgency in the North East and other security problems around the country.


Emerging from the meeting which lasted about an hour, the Chief of Army Staff told State House correspondents that he would be spending the Eid-el-Fitri Sallah holidays with troops ‎fighting Boko Haram insurgents in Damaturu, the Yobe State.

He is expected to receive briefing from leaders of the troops in Damaturu during the visit especially regarding their challenges, their state of fitness and the need to re-kit them.
