Nigeria - Presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina has said that the multinational joint task force put together to battle the Boko Haram insurgency is expected swing into action on July 21st.

Speaking during a Vanguard interview, he said Boko Haram can't just be kicked out as it'll require months of elaborate planning.

"One day, the world woke up to hear that Osama bin Laden had been killed by the US Navy Seals. But did you know how long it took to plan that operation? It took 24 months of painstaking planning. Drills, simulations, all that happened until they got him.

"I am not saying it is going to take 24 months before this government breaks the back of Boko Haram. I am just telling you that planning needs to be carefully done and that is what is being done.

He said President Muhammadu Buhari is concerned about the issue.

"..Nigeria has released 21 million dollars for the joint task force. That is money Nigeria can use in other areas but it has invested 21 million dollars in that joint task force.

"That shows seriousness and I think July 21 has been picked as a date for that force to swing into action. Nobody can fairly accuse this government of not doing anything about Boko Haram. It is doing a lot and, eventually, we will see the end of insurgency.

The multinational joint task force which was originally the brainchild of the previous administration will unfortunately be a joke under the present government. The very obvious reason is that the dreaded Boko Haram have changed tactics and cut their losses Under the previous administration the MJTF were combating visible targets who had drawn their forces too wide. But now they have gone into the shadows and are now using a guerilla strategy. If you research the Vietnam- France war you will see what a guerilla army can do to a conventional army. We are about to witness a carnage like no other. This will go down as the biggest goof in military strategy history. The APC are working straight into a trap and they just don't know it

A old Chinese story goes: A wise old farmer was one day on the plains with his old horse. While there he noticed that the horse was worn out and tired, and so out of pity for it, he let it go. When he returned to his village, the villagers came to show their condolences on his misfortune. But to their surprise all he could say was we shall see. After a few weeks the horse after replenishing its strength returned with other wild horses and increased the stock of the farmer. On hearing this the villagers came to celebrate with the old man. But surprisingly all he could say was we shall see. Later his only son decided to tame the horses, but unfortunately was thrown off and thus broke his leg. The villagers on hearing this came to console the man on the fact that he would now have to till his land alone since his son was injured and could not help him. To this he once gain replied we shall see. Later a war broke out between their kingdom and the next kingdom. The emperor thus sent forth his emissaries and thus rounded up all the young men. But since the old man's son was injured he was not drafted and so was left behind. Unfortunately the war was disastrous and all the young men were killed . Later the old man's son miraculously got healed of his broken leg and since him and his father were the only strong, active men left, they bought all the land and became quite rich. All the villagers worked for them, but since the old man was generous they suffered no injustice. When they went to commensurate with him all he had to say was WE SHALL SEE.
