And They Overcame Him By The Blood Of The Lamb, And The Words Of Their Testimonies
And They Did Not Love Their Lives Unto The Death.

The brief passage (Rev. 12:7-17) began with one war and ended with yet another. The devil haven lost the war in heaven came to the earth only to begin another one. Jesus defeated the devil in heaven so he came to make war with the saints on earth. We are at war with Satan. The earlier you realize this, the better for you. The devil is out to frustrate God so he will stop at nothing to destroy God’s work in you.

Until Satan was cast out, heaven had no peace. He was one big headache to everyone, his own was to accuse, to frustrate, to hinder, to spoil, to destroy and to scatter. Because the old dragon, Satan, was an intelligent foe, he held all of heaven captive to meet the demands of eternal justice. Satan had a place among the sons of God in heaven because of his legal authority over the earth. This Authority rightfully belonged to Adam, but was usurped by the old dragon to gain a place among God’s sons in heaven. Because Satan had legal ground on the earth, his heavenly place remained sacrosanct. Not even God could stop the devil because the blood was not yet found.

For Satan to lose his heavenly relevance, Jesus must come to the earth to pay the price of divine justice. This was the demand of the old dragon. Jesus came to destroy both the devil and his works and to end the embarrassment his presence brings to God before the holy angels in heaven. Jesus came down to bring down the devil so that humanity can take her place once again in the presence of the Father. For this reason the almighty God suffered the indignity of sacrificing his only begotten son: so that mankind will be free from the demonic strangle hold of the wicked dragon. But Jesus coming did not just liberate the earth and humanity, all of heaven was also liberated from the spell of Satan’s presence and relevance. That’s why Jesus is Lord on earth, in heaven, in the sea, in hell, and over all of creation.

For this cause, whatsoever is bound on earth is bound in heaven and whatsoever is loosed on earth is loosed in heaven. Satan lost the war in heaven because his legal ground of earthly dominion was neutralized by the blood of the lamb. The Old Serpent sealed his own doom by shedding the blood of the innocent son of God. This action was Satan’s greatest mistake. Had he known the consequence of such act ahead of time, the bible said he would not have crucified the lord of glory. It was this vicarious death that made available the blood of atonement which cost Satan his lofty position in heaven. The moment that pure and untainted blood touched the Jerusalem earth on the day of crucifixion, in that same instant, Satan lost his place in heaven. So the stage was set for the battle to flush him out of the presence of God.

The battle was joined in heaven, but the legal instrument for victory came from the earth. The blood of the innocent son of God more than met the demands of divine justice and atoned once for all, for all the sins of mankind. Thus liberating God from legalistic bondage and Michael was empowered to cast out the Old dragon and all his cohorts from heaven’s vicinity.

“And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent called the devil and Satan which deceiveth the whole world; he was cast out into the earth, and his angel was cast out with him”

As the devil was cast out from heaven and his place was lost forever, so must we cast him out on the earth and give him no place in our lives. As the devil was defeated in heaven, so must the earth defeat him too. Satan’s heavenly defeat was made possible because the army of the dragon was greatly weakened by the power of the blood of the lamb. Angel Michael could not bring a legal accusation against the devil but simply said, “The lord rebuke thee”. Each time you lift up the blood and the authority of his name, the devil is greatly devastated. He lost all legal ground for satanic dominion when he killed the spotless Lamb of God.

Therefore you have no reason to run from Satan but to cast him out even as it is done in heaven. So many children of God have suffered terrible defeats in the hands of the devil because through ignorance they allow the devil a place in their lives and fail to resist him forcefully. If you suffer and die in the hand of Satan, you will have only yourself to blame. Every necessary instrument for spiritual victory in the conflict against the enemy has been provided in the redemption package.
