Foreign Affairs / Racism: South African Blacks Are Weak by 247NewsUpdateNG: 12:27pm On Jan 05, 2016
South Africa boasts of several freedom fighters and human rights legends such as Nelson Mandela, Thabo Mbeki, amongst others. Years ago, these legends fought for the freedom and rights of the South African black man and even when they were severely prosecuted, they fought on till they achieved freedom for South Africans.

Fast forward to the present, South African blacks have dragged themselves back to the post-freedom era. Racist comments are hurled at them, on a daily basis, by whites without any legal reaction taken by the blacks. This happens on their own land, South Africa. It is very shameful to remember that this was the land that was liberated for them.
The most shameful, and annoying, part is that when these blacks see a fellow black, from neighboring African countries, toiling and making it, they grow angry and pick up weapons to kill and maim such person. The South African blacks have gone so lazy to work and yet they want to eat.

Anyway, as President Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe said, "South Africans would knock down the statue of a dead white man but won't attempt to slap a live one. Yet they can stone to death a black man because he is a foreigner".

So much for a country of freedom and human rights legends.

Politics / Re: Why The Iranian Ultimatum For El Zackzacky's Release Must Be Taken Seriously by 247NewsUpdateNG: 9:26am On Jan 05, 2016
gimakon:

You are wrong about Iran and Shia.
Hezbolah doesn't fight back without a reason, they do not terrorise people like the sunni.
Ask your selves this

Boko Haram- Sunni
ISIS. - Sunni
Al Shabab - Sunni

The other notorious one in Ethiopia - Sunni
Al Shabab in Kenya - Sunni

I don't speak on favour of Iran. But the most notorious Islamic Sect are not the Shia Muslims. It's the Sunni and Kwariji Muslims.

You're very right. From poll count, all Islamist militant/terrorist groups are Sunni-inclined.
The Shi'a/Shiite Muslims are more peaceful when compared to others and only act when acted against.
My opinion: A Shi'a/Shiite believes in dialogue while a Sunni believes in violence.

Celebrities / Why Is The Headies Next Rated Award Given Such Priority? by 247NewsUpdateNG: 11:00am On Jan 02, 2016
Nigerians prefer living in a world of irrelevance than reality. The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) stated that from January, 1st 2016, petrol should be sold at N85/litre at every filling station and even released the phone numbers of surveillance agents in various states.
How many people have called any of those numbers to report the exorbitant price of N150/litre that these filling stations are still selling at? Olamide, Don Jazzy, Lil Kesh, Reekado Banks, Di'Ja, and even Vic O, would still be able to have filled tanks even if PMS sells at N1000/litre.
Even if the Next Rated award is collected from Reekado Banks and given to Lil Kesh (which would not happen), it won't fill our tanks nor supply us with our basic needs.
It's best we (Nigerians) set our priorities right.
Thanks for reading and do have a fabulous day!
Politics / Nigeria Politics: A Mastery Of The Art Of Chess by 247NewsUpdateNG: 1:06pm On Dec 31, 2015
First and foremost, it is important to have a basic knowledge of the boardgame called Chess.
The game of chess is a two-player boardgame which consists of sixteen pieces made up of one King, one Queen, two knights, two bishops, two rooks (also called castles) and eight pawns.

The game dates as far back as the 7th century and have been a favourite past time of several kings and emperors, who played the game in a bid to sharpen their intelligence and improve their battle strategies. Mastery of the game of chess requires tact, intelligence, wit, and, most importantly, patience. It can be tagged a mind game. Enough said about the game, though there can hardly be enough said about chess.

Indigenous politics came into limelight from 1960, when Nigeria gained independence. Being a rookie in the art of chess (Nigeria politics), tribalism resulted in the formation of three political parties: Nigerian People Congress (NPC) -- a Hausa/Fulani party, National Council of Nigerian Citizens (NCNC) -- an Eastern region, consisting of mainly Igbos, party-- and Action Group (AG) -- a Western region, consisting of mainly Yorubas, party. Due to the lead in population, the Northern-majority party, NPC, captured the most seats in Parliament and controlled the political sector of the nation, with Sir Tafawa Balewa and Sir Ahmadu Bello becoming Prime Minister and Premier of Northern region respectively. On the chessboard, the duo could be represented as the King and Queen. Although the Prime Minister enjoyed more political authority when compared to a Premier, Sir Ahmadu Bello (due to his position as Saraduna/Sultan of Sokoto) is represented as the then king on the chessboard.

The opposition comprised of the Eastern and Western region-- though they were not in coalition--, with the then President/Governor-General, Sir Nnamdi Azikiwe (of the Eastern region) and Chief Obafemi Awolowo (of the Western region) serving as King and Queen respectively on the other side of the chessboard.
During a game of chess, when a pawn successfully gets into the 'royal territory' of the opposition, it is given the privilege of transforming into a member of royalty (ranging from a rook to a Queen). This principle occurred on the opposition end of the chessboard as Samuel Ladoke Akintola, upon selection as Premier of the Western region, took the privilege of becoming a 'Queen' and tried changing certain precepts of the Action Group (AG) party. This didn't go well with the older Queen (Chief Obafemi Awolowo) who sought to use his power as leader of the AG party to knock the younger Queen (Ladoke Akintola) off the chessboard. This caused a bloody unrest in the opposition tent and due to the bone of contention being a pledge of coalition to the ruling government, it waded into the turbidous territory and knocked the older Queen off the chessboard thus installing the younger as Queen Supreme of the opposition.
Law 15 of the 48 Laws of Power(Robert Greene) states: Crush your enemy totally!
In ancient times, when an Emperor took over an empire, he slaughtered all loyalists of the previous regime in a bid to curb all forms of rebellion.
Applying this law, Ladoke Akintola disbanded the Action Group (AG) party and established a new party-- Nigerian National Democratic Party (NNDP). Out of loyalty for its installation, the Queen Supreme, led a marriage of its child, Nigerian National Democratic Party (NNDP) to the ruling government party Nigerian People Congress (NPC). This coalition left the Eastern region party, National Council of Nigerian Citizens (NCNC) and the rebels of the Action Group (AG) in the opposition.

The game was however brought to a abrupt halt when a group of military officers knocked the chess pieces off the chessboard, crushed certain pieces to dust and began playing checkers on the board. The pieces crushed were chieftains of the NPC-NNDP coalition. Due to the military officers (involved) being of Eastern region origin, the coup (which was tagged a tribal coup) angered the Northern and Western region.

Though the game of chess and checkers have lots of similarities, the rules of play are quite different. From 1966 to 1977, the military played the game of checkers with the politics of the nation. The dictates of the Head of State […]

in as much I don't support the insult on Mbaka, he actually called for it, he's just a political prist and have lost the respect of many catholics

Then it's best to let God handle him, rather than rain abuses on him because no matter how political he tends to be, he is still an ordained priest.

Which law are you talking about? Buhari is the law, he is the Alpha and Omega of Nigeria. If anything goes wrong, we all shout Buhari. Boko Haram has been killing thousands of Nigeria and we have been shouting Buhari, how many of us still remember that a Court in Nigeria granted bail to Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume our current Senate Majority after captured Boko Haram members provided proves that Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume is one of their major sponsors.

Kanu Nnamdi is very proud to say that he is a threat to the territorial integrity of Nigeria, so he should remain behind the bars. No court will give any order to release a terrorist that Buhari or DSS will obey. If you are not satisfied with this, kindly declare the war you have been threatening.

Sad to believe that this is coming from someone who has (possibly) heard, can define and was taught democracy sometime in his life!

Greatest bishop in Nigeria as at today, only one fighting for Christians not Fr Mbastard.

It is hard believing that this comment was actually dropped by a Christian. Even a Muslim or someone of any religion would never go as far as insulting a messenger of God!

Thank u my brother.

Every sector of the country is in auto reverse but all we keep hearing is Dasukigate.

Yeah. I'm not insinuating that what Dasuki did is right but with Buhari's alleged involvement in the dole out of the misappropriated arms funds, and the immunity shield he has as President, it is only proper that the prosecution of Dasuki be adjourned to when the President's immunity expires. Investigation should continue but prosecution should be paused.

Comments and campaigns made by the IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, are punishable charges of treason, yes, but not in this era. If we claim we are in a democratic dispensation, then Nnamdi Kanu was only exercise his fundamental right of speech. Else, people like the billionaire Donald Trump would be presently cooling his ass off at Guatemala or Guantanamo Bay, yet he drops this same genre of comments (even worse) on international television stations and social media platforms, while on a PRESIDENTIAL campaign, and if we are honest with ourselves we might have applauded some of these comments.
All I can say about all recent happenings is that the Federal Government is actually playing into the hands of the agitators with the prosecution of the IPOB leader.
N/B: Realization of Biafra only requires a referendum from UN and other international bodies.

That's d way u see it. Some people even see having a job as slavery. That's y we're never dedicated to hardwork over here.

I see coloniazation as "training"/"guiding"/ followership.

Training, guiding and followership you say! No master hardly ever trains a slave. He/she only (mis)uses such person(s). You can't acquire guidance from one who hasn't been able to guide himself/herself (police shooting, protest of wrong causes, e.t.c) and followership is only acquired from a leader not a dictator or nepotistic beings.

Waiting for 2019 to hear his campaign promise then.

No matter the bad circumstance any continent, race, tribe, e.t.c slavery is never the way out and colonization is slavery and exploitation coated with sweet vocabulary.
