This is the mentality that has compromised Nigeria's security effectiveness!!

Nigerian security agents, Military in particular, want to be feared rather than respected!

That is why you threaten people for wearing camouflage. You want to present the Military as a superior cult, superior to everyone else.

The americans or even russians would not threaten civilians for wearing camouflage with harmless motives, because they know there is much more to being a soldier than wearing camouflage. Those who have been through Military Training should know!

Because the Nigerian Military is a cult of fear, people are unwilling to interact with them and share information with them, information that may well save their lives and others' as well.

Some people deeply resent Nigerians in Uniform, for reasons you may not be able to blame them for if u hear their story!

Also, some brilliant Nigerians who could contribute so much to Nigeria's Military and Security effectiveness won't enlist and will have nothing to do with the forces! SAD! At the same time, many of those who join do so only because of the power and impunity they believe they can get from the uniform/uniforms.

Clearly, the mentality of Nigeria's security and defense personnel must change!

Imagine Civil Defence and navy using guns being sent to harass unarmed street traders. It still happens today!

They should have been better oriented to tell whoever sends them that that is below their calling!
