Bugatti, bye – bye: SSC Tuatara became the fastest production car in the world

SSC North America’s new Tuatara gasoline hypercar broke last year’s Bugatti Chiron speed record (490 km / h) and was able to accelerate to 508 km / h on the public road.

SSC North America from Richland (Washington) already has one speed record in the class of production cars: until 2010 it was held by the Ultimate Aero hypercar (412 km / h), after which this achievement was blocked by the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport – 431 km / h. In February this year, SSC unveiled its new product, the Tuatara hypercar, and immediately promised a new speed record. No sooner said than done: On October 10, British racer Oliver Webb was driving a Tuatara near the town of Pahrump (Nevada) on a 7-kilometer straight section of regional highway No. 160 to accelerate to 508.73 km / h – this, according to the rules of setting records, the average speed from two attempts made in different directions of the track during one hour. Discontinued BMW i8 turns into Italian sports car Taraschi Berardo

The Bavarian hybrid coupe has unexpectedly found a second life: the Italian brand Taraschi will make on the basis of it exclusive sports cars Berardo worth about 800 thousand euros.

The Taraschi brand is named after the Italian racer and designer Berardo Taraschi, who after the war had his own company, Meccanica Taraschi, which ceased to exist in 1961. Earlier it became known that the Ford F-150 will subsequently have a fully electric version. The company has now released a video clip of the version it dubbed the F-150 EV. The video was filmed during many hours of testing to which the “green” novelty was subjected.

There are still almost no details about the “stuffing” of the electric modification of the pickup. The company noted that the truck’s powertrain will include two electric motors, and that the total system power will be higher than the output of any F-150 available today. Note that now the most powerful “engine” is under the hood of the 2020 F-150 Raptor: it is a 456-horsepower EcoBoost V6 with a volume of 3.5 liters (torque – 691 Nm). It turns out that the total output of the installation of the “green” F-150 will exceed 456 “horses”.

New Funding for FUELSAVE

German cleantech provider FUELSAVE has secured €3.4 million ($4 million) in new funding through Dreamcraft Ventures.

The two tranches of investment will help FUELSAVE increase the production of its advanced combustion conditioning solution, FS Marine+. The retrofit solution reduces both primary fuel consumption and emissions, and is compatible with current and future fuels.

FS Marine+ optimizes combustion by using advanced combustion conditioning, making combustion cleaner and more efficient, thus cutting greenhouse gas emissions by 30 to 80%. The system can be easily installed and does not require any modifications of the engine parts.

“Although not a silver bullet, advanced combustion conditioning has the potential to truly contribute to building a low-carbon future for shipping and is one of the few ways in which shipowners can reduce their emissions now, without requiring major changes to their engines and vessels,” FUELSAVE CEO Marc Sima said.
