A greedy man, I can reason with and agree with, but a man who lacks an ambition, the world can not agree with: Hercules(2014).
Its very obvious that the Jonathan administration was the break from the norm and this new administration is the return to cabals, cartels and lazy, good for nothing uncreative stooges. An administration which had Hard work, local content protection and innovation as its statutes is seen today as a cesspool of corruption. Well they should enjoy the spoils of the battle but later their incompetence will cost them the war. No matter what the truth is that their days are numbered. The new powers will gain the upper hand globally and cronies of the old order, here will be swept away by the very brooms they waved in lunacy. The Hague will be their final bus stop
One major reason why I supported GEJ was because he doesn't belong to any cabal. He's his own man. He understood that to revamp the oil sector, all spikes and nails that were responsible for inefficiency and lack of transparency of the sector were removed. A development that brought him into direct confrontation with cabal members. Notice that of all GEJ's ministers, the ones so hated by the cabals are Ngozi and Deziani. The latter was even more hated because she sidestepped people who were trying to maintain status quo. She herself admitted to the fact that she stepped on powerful toes as she implements GEJ's transformation policies within the sector.
That's why in an effort to rubbish and reverse great developments achieved within the petroleum sector, the media has been flooded stories about corruption by past administration. Airwaves awashed with stories about a single minister stealing $6 billion. The real target is Deziani.

You are also forgetting that there is a little issue of 445,000 BPD that goes to the NNPC for local consumption. That is supposed to go to the refineries but since the refineries are not working, no one has any idea who takes that.

Knowledge of who takes them or where they go is in the public... try Google or NNPC website...

Political will was alien to the last administration in critical areas of national importance. Was it security, war against corruption and our battered image in the international community?....

1. Are you for real? that should be a sarcasm right?

2. Subsidy removal was a right initiative but at a wrong time. Even the partial removal had no bearing on the advancement of Nigerian people because of the lack of direction or of political will to implement necessary policies devoid of deceit and unnecessary patronage of the political hyenas that crowded the corridor of power in the last regime

3. To be fair to him, he tried in that aspect

4. Because they could see through the prism of their hypocrisy. Selling of country`s asset to few loyal friends

5. Where is the report of the probe? Who are those found culpable? Where are they now? Serving a jail term or wining and dinning with the power that be? The defaulters cut across political divides i know but nothing was done and you called that a proof? undecided

6. Buhari`s intentions have always been geniune as evident in his approach viz a viz openness to national issues

1)I wonder if you understand the meaning of political will...If there's none, why subsidy removal?...why calling America bluff?...Why the stern warning on diplomats and observers like Kerry?...If buhari has as much; let him not run from subsidy and halliburton scandal case...(these two are facing him already)...

2)When is the right time?...How did implementation go wrong?...what would have been alternative?

3)You're not being fair but have no option than to be...

4)There's never a time that people NOT favoured by any transaction won't complain and tell tales...Even the world celebrated power sector privatisation has losers complaining as well and coming with different stories...

5)Judiciary is an independent arm of government... There's also case of plea bargain which is lawful...so grow past your jail mentality for any corruption case plzzz...

6)Governance isn't about intentions but actions...Let him remove subsidy if his national good intention is more than his selfish political interest...

7)Let him prosecute halliburton thieves if he's patriotic enough and sincere about good governance in an egalitarian society...

Great observation. At least not all people will be decieved by misinformation currently being peddled by the apc concerning the nation's refineries.
Those who have been following developments within the petroleum sector in the last eight years will attest to the fact that GEJ made great strites and effort, especially the promotion of local content that saw the rise and development of indegenous technology and capcity to manage high tech facilities. This leap was the major reason why TAM of our refineries was awarded to local engineers rather than foreigners. Not only did that helped saved cost, it also provided the enabling environment whereby all resources expended via TAM were re-invested within the oil sector by our local engineers for increase technological capacities.

Love this submission...thanks

Why are you so quick to conclude the article was based on speculation whereas yours was based on facts

We are all using deductive reasoning in arriving at our positions

Do you know how they refine crude as in the technical specifications for the process plants?

So let's talk about basic chemistry, crude is refined through a seperation technique called fractional distillation.

So you flow the crude into a tank which is then heated after which the seperated products can be extracted at different temperatures

In engineering terms, you need a network of pipes to transport the raw, by and products.
You will need guages and valves
You need gas to heat the tank bla bla bla

What I'm getting at is trying to understand which of these stages of seperation process would have completely shut the refinieries down

The only probable reason that comes to mind is clogging and rusting of pipes which could have been rectified without needing a complete shutdown

1)Your link was simply an author airing his view on the crude imbroglio...hence I said he's speculating...

2)He said PH refinery had sole challenge of power...NOw, power has been rectified but it is still not on optimal output which makes a lie of that link...

3)Other ones are not up and running at optimum capacity which confirms that Jonathan was right after all...otherwise all should be running by now if your accusations and that of the link alongside other Buhari fans were right...

4)What is needed according to Jonathan and team was TAM which is system overhaul and servicing...facts on ground support this even under buhari so far...thereby making all other assumptions against Jonathan a fat lie...

Your argument doesn't follow.

Bush started the hunting and Obama revamped and intensified the process.

GEJ started the process and Buhari did nothing than watch as the results emerged.

So try another analogy.

Buhari's coming stopped the corruption holding the refineries down. With Buhari all the individuals started living up to their responsibilities. In March this year, Jonathan promised us 2016 with billions to be spent. But immediately Buhari came in, the need for billions vanished. While the 2016 date became now.

You can argue all you want, but Buhari's coming has got things working and those that held down these facilities to oil their looting channels are kicked out.

Whatever happened under Buhari is his praise or blame. But don't ever forget the mess Buhari is fixing is what Jonathan and the PDP left behind.

Anybody can blame "corruption" for everything that has been
since the beginning of time because it is now a trending word.

How does corruption hold the refineries down ?
Are there contractors who didn't do their work for the past 3 years who quickly started and finished
their part of the renovation within a space of 2 months ?

If what happens during Buhari is his praise or blame , why are you quick to
call GEJ's name in anything related to Buhari ?

Will Buhari continue to live in the sadow of GEJ for the next for years ?

As to the supposed mess he is cleaning , I expected you to give an example
along with the efforts Buhari is making to correct it aside media prosecution of

1. The Pipeline security that allowed criminals to freely steal our crude oil.
2. An end to the NNPC board that have precised over the mismanagement of the refineries.
3. Kicking out the PDP government that turn blind eyes to the massive looting by their members and cabals.
4. The billions that was to be expanded by Jonathan in the name of fixing the Refineries in 2016 was out of the table because Buhari is here.
5. The Subsidy thieves and oil cabals that ensured the refineries were below capacity in order to increase their exploitative schemes have all backed off from these criminal acts.

I think we should stop tales by moonlight here...Did you note points Nos 3 & 8...these are excerpts of the link attached there...

1)2016 date remains feasible going by realities on ground as at today...

2)Count 18months plus & minus from October 2014...and it will give you seemingly first quarter of 2016 still...

3)Check out the second link in original post again which was published some days ago...it gives same date for OPTIMAL output...

4)Check out first link...it shows that based on agreement with the local engineers, that production will be going on with TAM probably to test the quality or expertise deployed by these untested local engineers...

5)Provide evidence that the amount budgeted for the TAM has been cancelled...

6)Are you par chance insinuating that buhari is now deranged and lacks the capacity to address issues...because he said he has zero input refinery...while you think otherwise...Is buhari a dullard indeed gringrin

In fact report from Ogun state has it that pipeline vandalism has increased
since the disbanding of local militias.
Every wise military commander knows that you can't effectively secure a remote area by simply

3. Aren't you surprised that none of the "cabals" have been charged to court
let alone convicted ?
how can the people that supposedly stole $150 billion dollars be let of the hook ?

4. It is a fact that the refineries won't be completed until 2016 , you may disagree if you like
and just so you know , FG hasn't completed the payment for the whole project so Buhari will
eventually spend that "billions" , remember subsidy ?

1)Contract expired ...buhari did nothing here...

2)NNPC board wasn't dissolved by buhari...there term expired with last administration and they went...Buhari keeps making a none existent orders...(eg; He was dissolving a board that wasn't existing at all...he was making an announcement about single treasury account that was existing already... he's simply confused gringrin )....

3)I hope it was PDP that made Lagos win award as the most corrupt state in Nigeria in 2014...made Osun comatose...bankrupted Imo state etc...

4)About 99billion was the cost of fixing the three(3) refineries and NOTHING changed...I challenge you to counter this...grin

5)Subsidy thieves actually camped in APC full time...Otherwise why is buhari who denied subsidy before May 29th now afraid and refusing to remove same...Oando, Conoil etc are HIGHEST beneficiaries of subsidy payment and TINUBU, OBJ as faces behind the mask...Capital oil that's close to Jonathan has been voicing out for subsidy removal.... While it is on record that APC stifled subsidy removal in 2012...So will they support something that supposedly benefits Jonathan more...Common sense should guide us here gringrin

6)If buhari brought integrity to governance... Why is he dodging halliburton fund?...why is he not removing subsidy which is encourages national survival but against selfish political interest...Or because the oil thieves have vowed to bring him down if he touches their largesse cheesy

Bro, on your No4; NNPC act allows them to make payments both capital and recurrent expenditures from their income...before remitting whatever balance to Federation account...So the money for TAM has been appropriated for by them...though they keep releasing payments to engineers in batches...But they won't beg buhari for money to complete the payment for TAM...

That's the issue many do not understand about NNPC...hence APC & buhari uses it to play politics by telling people how much NNPC makes without telling the people also what the law says and various bilateral agreements NNPC has entered into...they simply use the figures to turn people against PDP & Jonathan...

They will never remember these articles
http://thenationonlineng.net/nnpc-to-repair-refineries-with-550m/
For the Kaduna refinery it was reduced from $600million to $212million.
“So we have been able to reduce the total cost of the TAM for the refineries to $550million.
“The exercise which started in October last year is for a period of 18 months and it will be completed in the first quarter of next year.
“The expenditure of $16million a month had been reduced to an average of $10million a month per a refinery.
“By the first quarter of next year, all the refineries will be functioning optimally and we would be able to refine an average of 400,000 barrels of crude oil per day for local consumption.
“However, another advantage of what we are currently doing is that instead of shutting down the facilities while the TAM lasted, we will be producing even when the rehabilitation work is ongoing.
