My name (about me & my business):
My name is Nneka and i reside in Warri (Delta State). I am a Bsc holder in Home Economics (plus OND in Hotel & Catering Management) from Delta State University, Abraka. And i hail from Ndokwa East LGA. I started Creative Cakes last year and the business is all about baking and pastries. I have sacrificed a lot of time, resources and finance in ensuring i become the best at what i do.

At first it wasn't easy as i see girls out there who are good in this BUT don't get jobs regularly. I was determined and persistent, so from my final year days in the University i began this journey and suffice me to say that i was able to cater for myself in school, pay my school fees, etc, and now i can proudly call myself "miss independent". Yes, i pay my bills myself and the business is growing. If you want to patronize my services, don't worry, am available.

Also, i want to use this medium to teach you guys what i know. If you are interested in becoming an entrepreneur, an expert in cakes. Consider this a free cake baking school.

Sure. As time goes by, i will be uploading photos of my works.

What kind of cakes can you do (tell us other things you can do also)?
I can bake the following types of cakes;
- Red Velvet
- Chocolate Cakes
- Coconut Cakes
- Sponge Cakes, etc.

I can also do butter icing cake decoration, royal icing cake decoration, fondant (any type of design....in fact, name it, and i'll cake it ), pastries, small chops, etc.

Yes please. I am always available to teach anyone interested in making a living from baking (cakes and pastries). I currently have 4 students.

I dont live in Delta State, how can i get a cake from you if i order?
That shouldn't be a problem. I send cakes to Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, etc. Distance isn't a problem.

Hello guys , i promised you that I will share my recipe and procedures with you...
Here is a MEAT PIE RECIPE ...and PROCEDURE for those of you who are interested to go into commmercial pastry business or for private use..

RECIPE
1kg flour
500g fat
pinch of salt
minced meat or (corn beef)
irish potato
1 big round onion
2 cube maggie
3 sticks carrot
3 tablespoon vegetable oil
water
2 eggs
green pepper (optional)
pinch of curry
desert spoonful of brownie

PROCEDURE
1 measure 1kg of flour and 500g of butter in a bowl and a pinch of salt
2 mix fat and flour using rub-in method in other to trap air ..do it for 10-15mins
3 pour water into mixture and mix bit by bit..make sure the mixture is not too thick and not too light..
4 Dice carrot , irish potato, onions and green pepper..wash thoroughly and put on a filter to drip out water..
5 heat up vegetable oil then fry the carrot ..onions .irish potato..green pepper .and d minced meat..fry for 15mins..
6 Add dessert spoon of brownie and stir for few mins.then pour out your fillings in a bowl and set aside..
7 roll out your flour mixture with rolling pin ..make sure it flatens
8 cut out portions with meat pie cutter, then put some fillings in the portion u have cut out...repeat the same with d remaining flour mixture and fillings
9 use pastry brush to brush in water on d egdes so it can stick together ..then u close in..then use ur pastry brush to brush in egg white on d body
10 rub in vegetable oil on the meat pie tray or pan ..and place ur meat on it..heat up your oven and place in...alow to bake for 45 mins..
11 you can serve it with a cold fruit juice..enjoy..

Hello folks how was your day?? Well mine was great...I want to share some "facts about cake making"

FACTS ABOUT CAKE:
1) if you have ever experienced common cake baking problems such as a sunken or collapsed cake, this could be because yout oven isn't getting as hot as it says it is...Also note that an oven that is too hot could cause a dry cake..

2)When combining butter and sugar take your time to cream them together...This makes the cake lighter, as it adds tiny air pockets to the mixture ..sugar particles shouldn't be visible..

3) Begin the frosting process by first applying a very thin layer of frosting or icing to the cake (either butter icing or royal icing)..This is known as a "crumb coat".it will help to seal in the crumbs and you can further help this process by refrigerating the cake for an hour so at this point the frosting or icing can will harden slightly and really hold in the crumbs...now you can frost or ice as you normally do...

CUP CAKES
A standard cup cakes generally uses the typical ingredients found in larger size cake (egg, butter, flour, sugar, and milk)..however many different ingredients and favourings can be added to make a variety of flavours ,because of their small size..cup cakes will bake faster than a large size cake ..Cup cake's can also be called FAIRY CAKES..
