The accident investigation bureau will investigate the cause of the accident to check for negligence . Most accidents are often caused by either weather or human error. The AIB will also investigate the Nigerian Civil Aviation authority to see if it was culpable in its duties by checking if the Helicopter was airworthy amongst other things .

The point of all this is not to bring back the dead but to prevent a future occurrence and sanction those who may be found culpable at the end of the investigation

Thought these oil guys blab the Helicopter Under Water Escape Training (HUET), as a basic requirement for such trip. So, how come they couldn't utilize the skills acquired during training. Mtcheeww!! Niger & foolish water safety courses, just to get the paper certificate.
