That's definitely a brilliant idea. i want a Nigerian league where my local team will be playing and i will have the urge to go watch their match. That can only be possible when the NPL has reached a very convincing standard.

Arsenal is a traditional english club. It will take more than money for an african.

Dangote, zenith bank and chi foods are the main culprits here, especially dangote. I seriously don't know what he is trying to achieve.
If he thinks the real arsenal community in england will allow him own arsenal fc, then he must be seriously deluded.
They will gladly remind him that Nigeria is a poor third world country that need his money more than arsenal ever will.
he wont mind because he will get his return however same can not be said of the blackhole called Nigeria Premier league

gud one there. we need it to develop our league. nigeria is a funny country where we import everything including football. there is no harm in supporting or at least funding our domestic league.

My guy why do you want a company to fund what will yield them very little result compared to the one that would yield them heavy results?
Why can't we see that Nigeria may burn if some people don't watch Messi, CR7, Hazard, Aguero, Neymar, Robben, De Brunye, etc for one good week because some boys playing football at their backyard are using the channel at the moment? See, the people's interest is the key in investment not gun and cutlass, "thou must invest into our crap". Develop the game in Nigeria and you will see US, European countries and other nations will pay to broadcast it live. Do you know that some oyibo people used to love to watch Super Eagles play back in those days? We force them? Instead of building big stadiums and forcing companies to maintain them, let us build big talents like Jay Jay and these oyibo guys will tune all their tvs to Nigeria.com and pay per game!cheesycheesycheesy

Home team must win is the problem of the Nigerian league. Put ur house in order and people will patronize u.

I remember those days in secondary sch, it was all Celine Dion, R. Kelly, KC and Jojo e.t.c but today everybody is playing and enjoying Naija music and videos without anybody forcing us to patronize them.

Rubbish

These clowns keep making the fundamental mistakes many Nigerians do...trying to enforce how private individuals or companies spend their own money.

The LMC will not invest in better cameras for their stadia, will not invest in security to make the experience of live stadium visits salubrious. They will not pay players well to retain talent. They will not provide adequate protection for refs.

Yet they want Nigerians to come and watch the local league.

Enough of this silly and stoopid pseudo-patriotism. Make your games more palatable to watch and people will come. As long as they continue to try to invest the least amount of money while expecting miraculous returns, nothing will change!
It is obvious that tou have not being following the League this season. There is a significant improvement in the areas of playing surface, referee protection/harassment. The home team must win syndrome is now history. There have been about 5 to 10 away victories this season.
With respect to cameras, the league is been covered by DSTV with moderate cameras. I concur with your points concerning retention of talents it is very important.
Clubs should not b managed by state governments and d general stadium experience should b worked on.

I thought this is one of the role of government to reflect the priorities of the society as a collective, not so

Governments- federal, state or LGA have no business doing business. It should be limited to REGULATING business based on the dynamic values of the society that the government represents.

Football is also business, big business.

Just to be sure, I believe our musicians did something similar to ensure foreign musicians pay a % of their earnings or something similar, which has allowed our Nigerian music industry to grow so well even for export with plenty of EMPLOYMENT opportunities for our youths.

LMC is mad if they think this is what will make the league attractive. How about ensuring a certain standard in the stadia? How about having a fix amount as the minimum weekly wage for players? In England, when you are on a professional contract with a club in the EPL you get not lower than £15,000 a month. A situation whereby players are been paid 150,000 naira a month is extreme madness.

The biggest challenge facing the league if the flight of players from the league. A situation whereby our players will find the league attractive should be worked on.

Commend the clubs to pay the players well and half of the problem is solved.

So many ignorant comments by Posters on this thread. What makes it unfortunate is that, such comments are on the first page, and hav received prominence, thereby misleading the general public on the state of affairs of our league.

Imagine one saying, LMC should pay players regularly

Ensuring standard in stadia: Do you know that some clubs have been banned from playing in their stadium, until they fix their respective stadium Aboout 16 clubs were affected.

Do you know that LMC has already set a minimum amount to be paid at #150,000 and any club that doesn't pay their players and they get information of such, they'll deduct points from such club till they pay their players

LMC can only enforce rules IF the players are willing to co-operate. Two dolphins players reported the club to the LMC over non-payment, today, the players are no longer with the club. They were fired! So, players are scared to report their club.

Please, do you follow or #SupportTheNPFL at all. If not, please do, then you would know that your assertion is entirely false. Enyimba FC currently has four away wins. Enyimba FC currently has drawn four home matches. So, the home must win syndrome is a thing of the past.

That is what other Europeans did back then to protect their League too. When they did that, their citizens applauded it but look at us here, condemning such bold move. smh

LMC Invest in camera for the stadia? So, it is the responsibility of LMC now to do the job of Club mgts

Invest in Security When was the last time, you heard about Violence at league venues And if you want to know, the LMC chairman met with the IGP on ways to improve security at league venues and he got a positive response from the IGP.

So LMC are the club owners to pay the Players

Adequate protection for Referee? You are still in the dark about the recent developments obviously.

Yes, you should watch/follow/support the league.

You just called me uniformed and you just posted exactly the same thing I was kicking against.

Why do you think a player will refuse an offer to collect $2000 or N300,000 per week to play in a league where minimum is N150,000 per month?

And you say two players were fired, so why is that the problem of the players? What did LMC do to that? What are the rights of the players? Can such be attainable in England or even in India? Be honest.

the player don't have proper contract with the club and you don't expect LMC TO agree contract with the club for there player,

it's not fired, there were relieved of there contract. which is even attainable in the EPL
