Sad! Former US president Jimmy Carter says cancer has spread from his liver to brain  Former president Jimmy Carter said that the cancer in his liver discovered earlier this year by doctors has spread to his brain. Earlier, on August 3rd, he had a surgery to remove a tumor from his liver. Doctors removed about one-tenth of his liver during the surgery, which he said healed quickly and left him with "minimal pain." Today August 20, the 90 year old former president announced that the cancer has spread to his brain. "I'm perfectly at ease with whatever comes," Carter said at a news conference.
