Omo, this thing is not easy!!! This was the quote they sent to me three weeks ago! Which way Naija na Block - 2500 qty @ N500 = N1,250,000 IRON - 200 12mm @ N5900 = N1,180,000 Plank - 50 Qty @ N300 = N15,000 Cement - 45 bags @ N5500 = N247,500 Cement for Casting - 15 bags @ N5,500 = N82,500 Sand - 4 double Tipper @ 70000 = N280,000 Gravel 1 Tipper = N70,000 Nails - ½ bag = 8000 Workmanship = 25,000 Bricklayer workmanship - N500,000 Total= 3,661,000 I'm just reading online that blocks has increased and Cement has doubled And this is just for a 2-bedroom bungalow. The foundation, septic tank, and soak-away are all done. What's left is to bring it up to the roof. Can anyone modify this to give me a more recent update on the current prices? Thanks! Then they just sent me for drainage, which I believe is essential. Drainage Drive Through Iron = N220,000 Digging = N50,000 Gravel = N50,000 Sand = N60,000 Cement - 60000 @ N7,500 ( Block = N56,000 @ N700 (80) Workmanship = N24,000 Total= 520,000 |

dangoteinlaw: If it's waterlogged, dont you think there won't be 9 inches for foundation and 12mm won't be okay... Rather we'll be talking about 16mm and 8mm. |

Update on how it is going. Any advice on this? Meanwhile i wanted to add piller. I was waiting for their quotation but never knew they have already started the foundation already. The house is currently being built in the village in Oyo state with very dry land. Infact the town is known for having rock everywhere. The bricklayer complained about how strong the ground was and how it took them weeks to be able to dig the ground. Kindly check their work so far and tell me what i should do. Meanwhile since there is no pillar, i am thinking i should do round Lintel or what do you think? It is a bungalow. Need advice.

Winniealfred1: First thing first. The finished floor level to the compound level is way too low. In the near future, water might be an issue. - it looks like it's a slopping land to the back, hence the height at the back is better from ground. Solution - STEP UP the front part of the foundation by extra 2 courses, while thr back remains as is. On chain lintel, I've always not be an advocate but you can do it round if you wish. See attached pics. Goodluck. 2 Likes

Cost of things are on high side. I went to the mkt to get more tools, Infact I nearly fight with the seller ..lolz This items cost me about 120k. The most annoying one is the long 5ft plum. I bought it few years back in Benin for 8k Today I paid sum of 18k for it. A popular pop vendor here that worked in same Benin project, his boy stoled all my tools about 8 shovel , 2 long plum, sleeping foam and many more thing cost about 150k then They even spoiled the bathroom accessories in the house that I rented ( 2 bedroom) for the project for my workers only. They stayed there without paying me kobo throughout the duration of there work. Even to pay electricity bill they refused. Well I just leaved them with there character. But the owner of the project repaired all the bathrooms appliances they damaged for the landlady. 1 Like
