So sad that they are making this demand...at the same time I see quite a number of fellows here showing there ignorance. first and foremost, a lecturer can be a SAN if he distinguishes himself in d academic world. Even authors of 'legal' books can be made SAN once they prove they have made the required mark as set by Legal Practitioners Privileges Commission (LPDC)...The problem with the demand of the Legislators who are lawyers is that they did not organise their demand well..they want an automatic SANship cos they are lawyers and at the same time legislators. This is not cool, all lawyers in Nigeria can not be SANs, the criteria is the mark the aspirant has made in the field and if we must be honest to ourselves none of the present legislators or their predecessors deserve this honour.

If this evil proposal is given an assent, den d likes of Evelyn Oboro in d house of reps who in 2010 was called to bar after bribing her way through DELSU would automatically become a SAN. Evelyn Oboro who represents uvwie okpe sapele constituencies of delta state has never in her life appeared in court to represent any client, she has no known chamber anywhere in d world, she has not mentored any young lawyer, I doubt if she can even draft a tenancy agreement. Oboro has never made any input in deliberations since her stay in d house of rep in 2011 till date. Simply because she is a "Barrister" in d legislature, she should immediately become a SAN? Where does dis place d likes of Abike Dabiri whose performances while in d house of reps is sterling? Ita Enang and his crew of criminals should go practice dia law, work hard and become SAN just like Senator Victor Egba. Lazy lawyers wants to become SAN though d back door. The likes of Festus Keyamo should stand up and resist dis broad day fraud.
