They get internship spot faster. When they apply for jobs, the internships they've had in those great firms usually boost their chances as well. But those student loans dey scare me especially those that take thousands to study history or liberal art. If I'm taking such loans it has to be a competitive program.

SMH. cheesy

Many attacks on liberal arts sha. To be honest, in this age, taking loans for liberal arts courses seems unwise... Whatever, all I want is a PhD in English [Communication/Composition and Rhetoric]! #ThatsAll! wink

***cycles away on my 1940 Raleigh.

There's a new redesigned SAT now (from March 2016), so you may have to do a little more research to prepare.

I'd suggest you use the Khan Academy test prep:
https://www.khanacademy.org/test-prep/new-sat

You should also read up the posts on Prepscholar (I found them quite useful):
http://www.prepscholar.com/sat/s/resources

Buy a SAT prep/study book (Kaplan or Barron's will do)

Finally, here's a link to the four official practice tests I used to prepare (for the old SAT):
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/pk1rlgyix0g6f1j/AAA1gcLa5C5PpxzdfmWArQAAa?dl=0

All of the best!

You do. It's easy. Apply online. You get it in two weeks

Nobody goes to Canada in the winter so it doesn't take time but in the summer, it might take longer...like a month.

Abeg, which Embassy is the best to apply for visa in naija. Issued a 214b in a foreign consulate and advised to go apply from Nigeria. Also, I was issued a 214b in Abuja in 2014 when I was going for an mph. The whole thing don dey tire me.

Cc : imperioux, Bigfrancis, Walspring, Zeezah, Slimmy and all the gurus in the house. Your input would be highly appreciated.

Try not to use cab. Download the Uber app on your phone and register with your atm card. Then look for the address to the greyhound station and request a ride with the Uber app. Uber is like half the cost of Cab or even lesser sef

Hello are you still in MS State?

The easiest way to work in the USA with F1 is by driving uber or lyft. If you have clean driving records and your background check is clear you are good to go. You can make as much as $1k for full time and $500 on part time every week. You don't need to verify ur SSN as long as it's valid u have no problem. This can help u all through ur stay in school. Good luck

Even when you don't have the authorization to work off-campus? Hope you know that'll be violating your F-1 status..

Was @ the US embassy in Dubai. The VO said I've better chances I'm Nigeria. I'm considering reapply in 3 weeks in Abuja / Lagos (dunno which one is better). Is it advisable to reapply soon given that I was denied in November 2014. All inputs would be appreciated.
