Dear Akinwunmi Ambode, you have done well but there is still more you need to do otherwise this initiative is simple a waste of LASG resources in the long-run. 1: Setup a Fund to Re-educate and Re-train Primary School Teachers. Primary School is a critical level of School Education that is why it is called PRIMARY. At this stage everything you learn is what sets the stage for interest and intelligence in future academic endeavors 2: Curriculum Reforms: it is unfortunate that leading educationists in Nigeria are simply interested in publishing text books that lack quality and depth of their International counterparts. Academic Textbooks are so poorly written with emphasis on big words and confusion rather than simplicity and enlightenment. These Nigerian Educationist will never dare publish outside Nigeria because they know they will never meet the high standards. but our schools have these poor tools to work with. no wonder we produce poor students who go on to become poorly educated youths who cannot effect change in society. IT STARTS HERE 3: Sustainable Funding from the Private Sector: Businesses are interested in spending millions in shows and beauty pageants rather than quality education.. set a standard for them to get tax reductions if they spend more money on education instead of music and dancing and recharging and buck-naked big brother shows 2 Likes 1 Share |
