good morning guys, I recently installed Windows 10 as a dual boot with my windows 8, fixed all the driver issues, disabled automatic updates and done every other recommended settings, the problem is despite having done all this, my data still drain (unlike Windows , each time i connect to the Internet with my modem, am still pondering what else is draining my data, apart from this Windows 10 is a sleek os, a fraction faster than my 8, and the best of all runs cooler and games run faster each time am gaming. just need to fix the data draining issue

It's probably the live tiles in the start menu. Right click on each one and turn it off

If your OEM (eg HP) has released WIN 10 drivers for your model then go to their site if not then head to the driver's manufacturer's website (eg Intel) and download it there

Also my laptop only have SHUTDOWN and RESTART only. it does not have hibernate or sleep mode. pls any help?

I just gave you Intel as an example. it all depends on the driver you want to download. Intel is just for display drivers. So which drivers are missing?

OK. First as you're not seeing "sleep" option, it shows you haven't installed a display driver. That will come when you install your display driver.

Secondly, to get hibernate option, click on your battery icon and open power settings from there. On the options on the left, you'll see "choose what the power button does" then click on it. Then look for "change settings which are currently unavailable" and click on it as well then scroll down and tick hibernate box then save. That's all

Go to lenovo or Intel website and search for graphic drivers relating to your laptop. model, processor and Windows bit type (whether 64 bit or 32bit). Install and update the drivers and everything should be back to normal.

Hello house. I upgraded my hp dm4 from window 8 to window 10 but some how after the upgrade I got update notice which I downloaded only for me to restart my pc and got the device boot location not found. This force me to do system reset. It all work fine til I update my drivers again with driver talent and upon restarting the pc, the tiles started showing exclamation mark and won't open nd also the store keep crashing.

i don't know if this will work, but no harm in trying. type this in your command prompt ( in admin mode)
sfc/scannow.
it helped restore my malfunctioning metro apps.

wassup guys...please I need ur help on this matter....I did a fresh installation of windows 10 on my hp elite book 8440p as I had formated the system before...now my biometric devices are no where to found in device manager and the fingerprint scanner is nowhere to used...not in the sign in options....I noticed two unknown devices in my device manager...tried updating them but the response was no update was found by windows...please what can I do to rectify this...thanks in advance guys

The best and safest method is go to your manufacturer website and find specific drivers for your device there. Make sure you know your device model, processor type, bit type and so on. I'm sure hp, Dell, lenovo all have drivers for all their products on their websites.

If your system is working fine, then you have no need downloading drivers. Drivers are usually downloaded to fix certain issues.
