There is a recently trending fad all over nairaland now that the ibos use in consoling themselves that Yorubas don't go out of their enclave in the southwest and as such, are less exposed. grin I usually reel out in laughter at their folly. Yorubas dont usually do interstate because we believe our region to be better than any other in Nigeria unlike some people that sees the southwest especially trully well said, infact you've said it all.Lagos as their own London.

To give a few instances, there are lot of countries in south America where Yoruba culture and Language are most prominent, heck they even celebrate our festivals and revere our kings like the alaafin of Oyo for instance. What about benin republic, togo, ghana, south africa etc. In Benin republic for instance, you will find large communities of Yoruba speakers both of indegenous origins and those from Nigeria too. Even their president is of Yoruba descent. Even spain, all the way in Europe isn't left out.

http://www.mynewswatchtimesng.com/yoruba-culture-gets-boost-spain/

Don't even let me talk about the UK scenario. Now law enforcement in Uk are trying to employ Yoruba speaking individuals in Uk cos of the sheer magnitude of Yoruba immigrants in the country. We are found everywhere all over the world and we live all over as prominent citizens respective of our hosts and we go about it quietly without chest beating.

This are just few mentions just from my observations and not even a comprehensive analysis.

I don't blab, l deal on facts and figures. This is a summary copy of drug peddles activities, yet you are showing me individual records.

Secondly, the amount of marijuana produced in Ondo alone, is far than what you get in the whole of the Eastern states joint together.
ARE THEY WRONG?

Whether its only the Igbos that are brave enough to call you cowards to your face is not the question. The question is "is it true"? and/or do people believe it?

Whoa! whoa! whoa! What a speech. Guy, me sef be proud Ohio State University Alumnus (proud Buckeye cheesy)-- matter of fact, I did my final High school senior year in the State of Ohio. Lived in Harlem, ATL, Orlando, Columbus Ohio, and San Leandro California cheesy, so there's nothing you can tell me about America -- spent 15 solid years in God's own country. You can beat your chest from today till tomorrow but that won't make your lies true about Igbo population strength in the U.S relative to Yorubas.

And if any ethnic group is an embarrassment to the Nigerian state, it is no doubt your kinsmen. No week passes without them being apprehended for drug-trafficking the world-over, so please save your sermon for Church on sunday morning.

I see you guys can't keep my name out of your mouths lol

or are you saying my Aunties,Uncles, cousins and their grandchildren are not Nigerians because they were born and grew up in America?

what says the Nigerian constituition?

Bros, every human being get root.

Your uncle , aunties, cousins, blah blah are NOT African American. They are Nigerian migrants and second generation Nigerian migrants living in America. Completely DIFFERENT from African Americans. African American s are descendants of African slaves brought to America several years ago and have no connection to Africa nor have family members in Africa. There only connection to African is the 18th century, 19th century, etc etc slave trafficked to that part of the world. As I said, HIGHLY PATHETIC!!!!!! Leave the AA alone they are their own ethnicity and they have said so multiple times especially to Africans such as yourself trying to force them into your groups.

Good try, now there is no insult in your reply. To answer your question. Kanu is to Igbo what Gani Adams is to Yoruba. Uwazuruike too is to Igbo what Fasehun is to Yoruba. You can deduce whatever you like from this. But be fair and realise that no Igbo has ever insulted you because of views held by these men.

As a Yoruba myself, I even went to a Muslim school, here in lagos, there are few Christians too though, there are far many Hausa's, and even Fulani girls, we all get along quite well,my point is,we see each other as Muslims before tribes, so Yoruba that do not marry out to Hausa and Fulani or vice versa is because of their culture not because of Islam, I have many Hausa friends, heck the finest babe in my school is a Fulani girl,I would love to marry her a Fulani girl, that tribe have super pretty girls/women,

So Yoruba's do marry Hausa and Fulani Muslim, but it is a rear case,I don't know why myself, but surely am Yoruba, and am going to marry a Fulani girl, when am ready.
