Sincerely if you change the roofs to stonecoated and repaint the houses, its no different from highbrow areas of our major cities. I think these places must have looked very beautiful when they were newly developed.

What kind of loser takes pride in pointing out the downtrodden? Let alone his own black people? Especially in his country? Get your mind right!

Fools like the Op in their desperation to degrade people of other tribe only see what they want to see, even at that the pix is of yemetu and taken from atop agala hill, that area is still a very nice neighborhood to live. Every old city has inner city area and new areas, mostly the inner city contains old buildings and ruins. All said ibadan is among the first 5 cities in Nigeria.

Yorubas should hide their face in shame. If Lagos was never capital this is the best the sophisticated SW could come up with.

I wonder if there is a way to paint over a rusting roof with metallic paint so that looks new again. Not everyone has money to replace with stone coated roof or longspan aluminium
Re: Typical Ibadan Neighbourhood by basilo101: 12:17pm On Sep 04, 2015
it is not only Ibadan, this is the trademark of yorubaland. Whenever u see them shout SW, they have that nomansland in mind cos they kw the rest is shithole. even the Aba they ridicule is far ahead of their regional capital compare the pics of aba residential neighbourhood below

The difference is the height. Less availability of land lead to multifloor buildings in Southeast. Finally 90% of cities in the Southeast were non-existent as at 1900. Ndigbo kwuru si onye bu madu uzo whuo nri bukwa ya uzo nwee ajo ite.

Wow! so the aeriel views of brown roofs we often see on nairaland are not mud houses and bungalows afterall but they are houses with one story and two stories since 19th centuries ever before.... lipsrsealed
Well, Just a little touches of paintings and roofs changing will make it become the ancient rome of Nigeria grin

This is actually an insult to villages. God, I'm grateful as hell I'm not from Southwest. This is what those people called "largest city". I guess it's a "sophisticated city" for "sophisticated" and we don't understand it because it's "sophistication".

you didn't answer my question, preference is what I asked for ?
Moreover, tall buildings are just more trendy in the east, land or not.
They renovate a lot as well

Dude PREACH!!! I say the same thing every time. Tufiakwa. Even the damn Lagos after they took over, several years later, it hasn't even been a 200 years yet and it's already rated as worst city to live in by other Africans and non Africans.
