My bf took me to a nigerian party were every-one was dressed traditionally the clothes were fab, but after every-one was done eating one nigerian lady came up to me and gave me a bottle of washing up liquid, i turned to my bf and said where do i go to wash up he nearly fell of the chair laughing he said this was traditional that they will bring up other little gifts, as i was the only oyinbo there i was well looked after by the nigerian people, they made sure i had enough to eat and drink, so i just wanted to say that i think this is a lovely tradition.
