damoskiy:
The truth about the Unilag Electric shock event that happened on Tuesday 9th September, 2015.
The cable fell around 7:40pm With Miss Oluchi Anekwe been a victim under the cable at that point. She was on her way back from fellowship and not the boyfriend issue that a lot of media houses raised. Miss Oluchi Anekwe is a 300l Student of the department of Accounting, Faculty of Business Administration. A first class student at that.
when the incident happened she was rushed to the school's Medical Centre in the school. At the medical Centre the staff on duty asked for her student Identification card which she couldn't produce. The staff of the medical Centre left her to her Fate which resulted in her death around 9pm that same day. Not the lie about her been rushed to LUTH. The school's Medical Centre most times would try and stabilise patients before referral to a specialist.
Student got information about the death and decided that the management explains all that happened.
The protest was led by the Union President Comrade Abiodun Martins and first went to all faculties to stop lectures before matching to the Senate building demanding to know all that happened. Student demanded that they meet the Vice Chancellor in Person of Professor Rahman Bello. The Dean of student Affairs tried speaking to students but they never agreed. Students left the Senate building angrily due to stories that the Vice Chancellor was not available and that when he was available he should meet his Students at the main gate of the University. Students locked the main gate of the campus and sent a fraction to lock the second gate. Students occupied both gate for hours until the Vice Chancellor came to address student at the amphitheater. He said the so called cable didn't supply any part of the school and that they had complained to Eko distribution Company for years but nothing was said or done. The management agreed that the cable be put down and buried underground in 2weeks and that the school was going to be responsible to the parents Oluchi. The students also pushed forward the issue of bed bug affecting students in Hall of residence. The management promised to find a solution soonest.
Students around the school marched in their black outfits from 6:30pm for a candle light procession which began from her faculty business Administration and end at the same spot.
The school has since resumed academic activities and Social events.
This is the true story not the ones our media houses are telling us. from a great akokite.

nice on damoskiy....honestly i was appalled by the varying versions to the story presented by different media houses, some even said it was the entire poll that fell on her. RIP oluchi

Very true story...
The only part is she going to see her boyfriend, she was with her sister that night.
She is my Department mate(Accounting), I saw her early that day, in a branded top.
Its so sad.

May she rest in peace.
Accounting student, and some other student in our faculty, all went to her parents house to commiserate with her family. Our lecturers went to the house on the Wednesday, the day the school was shut down.

The Bible called some set of people fools...those that say there is no God.

It is painful to lose someone, yet, more painful to lose a sinner to death and I will tell you that His ways are far beyond human imagination, His foolishness(as perceived by men) is wiser than the wisdom of King Solomon.

The military officer and her kids that cheated death in the Ojuelegba container mishap weren't more righteous than those who lost their lives there.

The question now is; why do certain things happen? But remember, everything under the sun happens for a reason, known to He who was, is and forever will be.

May the Lord forgive your ignorance.

Until people start getting punished for negligence or breaking the law, be it PHCN/NEPA/DISCO, school authorities, students or medical officials, we would only continue to cry temporarily any time we cut onions!

Nigerians don't fear the law, they only fear what the law has done to others.
