This is Nigeria, A spectator always seems better than the player, now that the spectator is the player, the reality is here. The loud mouths will soon go sealed.

I'm still wondering n yet 2 see d essence of special advisers as regards certain aspect of our economy cos I believe thr wuld b adviser on maritime affairs,so if PMB has such a person he must have told d president abt d pros n cons when making decision.

So him issuing stance/statement n retracting is unpresident like.
If they trem Gej 2 b weak I wuld say dis president is 4 eye service d same corporation u claim 2 head personally holding u 2 ransom using importers/marketers as leverage.

For those who are uninformed, the reversal was necessary because of the adverse effects of the ban on our economy.
Any listening and analytical man will toll the line of PMB.
No matter how you look at the reversal, the welfare of the people should be the Supreme law

My brother, may God continue to renew your intellect.. if you know the magnitude of morons in numbers on nairaland, then you will understand the level of crass illiteracy of the Nigerian youth on the average.. most Nigerians are not just ok upstairs..

He reversed the ban on a guarantee that the vessels will not be used for any illegal activity..i am sure there will be repercussions if that condition is not met..
Sai baba! Baba sherubawon!!.. keep working let the wailers keep crying!!!

Why spend so much time looking for "saints" to appoint as ministers? Why dint he just appoint those suggested by his party stalwarts on a guarantee that they will not be corrupt?

It is amazing how people comment on issues. We've got a president that is not shying away from taking decision on the basis of facts available and if need be adjust his position when more details are made available later and yet people are criticizing him for it. Buhari thanks for being a leader that is not afraid to reverse decision on the basis of facts, that is heroic, not many of you are left again in Nigeria. Thanks Mr President

The ban did not follow due process.
In gov't union interactions,as it is also in d civil service, before ANY disciplinary action/suspension/ban can be effected, probable cause has to be shown, and opportunity given f a response from d accused.
The action was hasty, the number involved was large, and this reversal in itself portrays a government not diligent enough to do it's homework before actions are taken....at least to an outside observer.

Was ds scenario not in place b4 d ban? Was it not clear that d ban would have 'adverse effects' in d first place? Why place d country in a precarious position then recant thereby looking absolutely confused? Normal ppl always seek for and strive to achieve a stronger position/upper hand and not deliberately box oneself into weak positions due to avoidable decisions.

A listening and analytical man will carry out due diligence first before issuing and implementing any decision so he can stand by it and defend it without being backed into a corner.

If they decide to sue Nigeria for loss of earnings caused by an unsubstantiated ban is that not more avoidable loss n stress?

Well said

Some people be talking like certified idi.ots .

When PMB issued the ban, did he tell you that it was going to be forever? It was to serve as warning and some kind of punitive measure to all the illegal activities those Ships have been engaging in in the past.

And the government may just have achieved it's aim. The ships are being readmitted with an individual guarantee from each never to be used in economic sabotage of Nigeria's crude oil. Now they know that a new Sheriff is in town who will not tolerate nonsense. Now they know it is not business as usual.

So you certified idio.ts should keep on wailing while Baba keeps on doing what Nigerians elected him for, which is to bring back sanity back into the system.
If just 10% of our youths in this country, in the last 20years,could have such analytical minds as yours, when it comes to how they peruse/perceive issues and scenarios, we probably would have been better than Dunia by now.. Nigerian youths are so mediocre and stuck in their ways!

My brother go and read up Babangida's coup speech. He made it quite clear that Buhari was not prepared to listen anyone but himself and his number 2. That mentality is what is going to get his administration into big trouble. There are complexities in a large country like Nigeria that need to be taken into account.
You SNAKE! YOU SCOUNDREL! Do you reason like a child? What nonsense are you saying? ARE YOU SUCH A BLOODY SIMPLETON? What were you expecting IBB to say? If I were physically close to you, I will beat your dead brain back to life.. DON'T EVER COME HERE TO SPEW GUTTER IN YOU LIFE!!!!

Even when a father beat his child with 'pankere' to correct him, he later calls him and pat him on the back saying, 'don't do that again'. I'am close to a man who formally works on a ship that deals with oil, as an electric engineer. Yes, corruption occurs, even sold oil secretly on their own and share the millions involved.
