Was ds scenario not in place b4 d ban? Was it not clear that d ban would have 'adverse effects' in d first place? Why place d country in a precarious position then recant thereby looking absolutely confused? Normal ppl always seek for and strive to achieve a stronger position/upper hand and not deliberately box oneself into weak positions due to avoidable decisions.

A listening and analytical man will carry out due diligence first before issuing and implementing any decision so he can stand by it and defend it without being backed into a corner.

If they decide to sue Nigeria for loss of earnings caused by an unsubstantiated ban is that not more avoidable loss n stress?

but he warned them...now,they know, buhari has the power to ban them....that is enough for the moment...

Damn, Is it just me or did PDP took their campaigns to Nairaland...

For morons that do not know international politics , this is a SHOW OF FORCE..
Russians do send their navy submarines close to US cities and they are escorted back to international waters by U.S. Navy. U.S. Air Force do fly overpass over Russian , Chinese Airspace . It's all a show of force
Buhari just showed them that their precious acts can no longer be tolerated this side of the Mississippi. It's no longer business as usual. Now they will behave and if they don't , he will ban them again..
Buhari won this time, Nigerians won this time ..
So for learners , continue screaming and calling him a dullard. Y"ll had a PHD president for 6 yrs and it was a big disaster .

They have always known he has the power to ban them. However, that power was not exercised correctly and that is why they could protest because allegations leading to the ban were not substantiated. That creates the impression of a flightiness and poor co-ordination. They are not children that u flog so they feel pain and get scared of something worse. They are aware already so the right thing would have been a conclusive investigation which yields evidence against defaulters and then such are made scape goats with the full backing of law. That is is a more effective deterrent.

Seems like you didn't read this part of the article;

INTERTANKO, the global oil tanker industry association in a protest letter called on the President to lift the ban since there was “no evidence or grounds” to back its allegations.

“INTERTANKO protests in the strongest possible way that these bans should be lifted with immediate effect until grounds and evidence for the ban have been given to each vessel and vessel owner/operator, and the owner/operator has had an opportunity to respond,” General Counsel Michele White said in a letter to the NNPC, dated July 22.

Comprehension seems to be your problem. Who owns most of the vessels? Go and find out

Even when Airlines commits serious infractions and they are banned, is it forever?

You have nothing meaningful to say. Just sit down and watch.

I've been sitting down and watching as Nigeria gets worst under your acclaimed savior.

Everything is falling apart. Economy, Employment is sky rocketing, exchange rate is a story for another day, anti corruption fight has been only in the media, no one has been taken to court except accusation up and down.

Since the inception of this Government, can you point to one thing they have done.

When PMB issued the ban, did he tell you that it was going to be forever? It was to serve as warning and some kind of punitive measure to all the illegal activities those Ships have been engaging in in the past.

And the government may just have achieved it's aim. The ships are being readmitted with an individual guarantee from each never to be used in economic sabotage of Nigeria's crude oil. Now they know that a new Sheriff is in town who will not tolerate nonsense. Now they know it is not business as usual.

So you certified idio.ts should keep on wailing while Baba keeps on doing what Nigerians elected him for, which is to bring back sanity back into the system.

When a man gives you a letter of undertaking, it means he has nothing to fear....PMB is wrong on this. He needs advisers NOW!

You are so pathetic. Is this what "change" is all about? So, because of Buhari's mantra of "change," thieves should be given a second chance for them to CHANGE. Which sane person takes action based on mere allegations, if it were so? For your information, cooperate bodies are entities in the eyes of the law. They deserve to be punished, blacklisted or delisted if they err. If allegations of corruption against them are true, then Buhari who claims to champion the fight against corruption should allow the necessary punishment. Were there no conditions stipulated in their contracts? Who does business with people of questionable character? Fool me once shame on you. There is a popular saying that, "contempt prior to investigation is what enslaves the mind to ignorance."

On the contrary, I like what PMB did. It is called a warning shot.

It drives the message that it is not going to be business as usual.

The two months ban showed them how they could be affected if they are caught engaging in economic sabotage.

Now they know that all eyes are on them unlike before when they operated with impunity.

The ban was ill-thought of from the beginning. You can't ban vessels on mere hearsay and suspicion without concrete evidence. The fight to recover oil loot might suffer a bad fate too if it is not prosecuted without concrete evidences.

Since what I wrote is too difficult for you to comprehend, let me use a simple analogy. What would you do if your neighbor whom you have allowed into your apartment to watch football betrays that trust by walking away (stealing) with your stuffs each time he is allowed in? So you are telling me that the day you would catch him, you would only give him a few match suspension and allow him back in?

This is exactly what Buhari has done, encouraging corruption
