Why should the slowpoke called Yaradua use Nigeria's money to provide foreign treatment for an ex-governor that: 1) Is driving a Hummer, 2) Is suspected of public funds looting and 3) Has no hospital in the state he governed that can treat injuries from car accident? This slowpoke Yaradua must go. |

@topic, Turaki had intended to travel to Singapore for treatment but the President was said to have preferred Germany because of the country’s expertise in treating accident injuries.Mmm. I wonder how Mr President came about such an understanding! |

Tayo-D: He should certainly know about the expertise of the Germans. Isnt that where he receives his own treatment? |

Mr poster You don't go about wishing people to die. I am not even sure that you will not steal if you were a gov. He has a family I wish him speedy recovery so that he will be alive to answer and defend the charges against him or be jailed |

Plan to Fly Turaki Abroad Stalled There were feelers yesterday that plans to fly former Jigawa State Governor and serving Senator, Alhaji Saminu Turaki, out of the country for further medical attention may have run into some hitches. THISDAY gathered that the management of the National Hospital, Abuja, where Turaki was admitted, claimed that the hospital could handle his situation and that it was not necessary for him to be flown abroad. Senate President, Senator David Mark, it was learnt yesterday, had stepped up consultations with the management of the hospital on the next best step to take in the circumstance. Mark was at the hospital on Monday night to see the recuperating Turaki. He arrived at the hospital at 9.15pm, accompanied by no fewer than 10 personal aides and left at 9.33pm. Turaki, according to a witness’ account, told Mark that he was feeling better, but that he expected rapid improvement. Mark was said to have promised to discuss with the hospital management on the state of his health. Personal physician to the Senate President, Dr. David Ukoha, had been around Turaki since he was brought to the National Hospital. He was in the medical team that received Turaki when he (Turaki) was flown into the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport from Sokoto on Sunday. Turaki had been in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital, having sustained head and arm injuries in an auto-crash while returning to Abuja from Kebbi where he had attended a wedding last Saturday. His Sport Utility Vehicle, Hummer, reportedly somersaulted after it veered off the road. The driver was reported to have dozed off. He stabilised, consequent upon his admission in the hospital, but was said to have expressed his desire to be flown to Singapore for further treatment. President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua had reportedly approved that he should be flown to Germany instead because of the country’s expertise in the treatment of fractured bones. Turaki’s right arm is cast in Plaster of Paris (PoP) while his head was unevenly-shaven to allow for examination of the injuries. http://www.thisdayonline.com/nview.php?id=140883 |

agabaI23: He has a family, and so? If someone is horrible enough, I will not only wish them death, I will wish it is slow, painful and the most horrific one that it can be. I couldn't be any happier to see what happened to Samuel Doe, I wish Abacha experienced that before he died. |

No matter what has happened, you dont go wishing death on people like that, dont be an idiot!MrCrackles, if there is anyone been an idiot here, it is u. what do u wish for someone who wished you death? how do u stand up against an armed man? the only weapon we have against these armed bandits is prayers and if God decides to answer us by killing them, what can we do? i even pray that they die on their way to abroad. if these men have decided to deny us happiness, if they have decided to make us die in hunger in a country of plenty, if these men believes going to abroad when we have all it takes to make nigeria good, if they have all the earthly security for themselves and families, if buying hummers with our funds and refusing to build roads e ven with our money, then i wish them and whosoever that is supporting them death. lol . . . . so instead of standing up against the man, we hope he dies?? COWARDS-R-US!!! Kobojunkie, i always take aback to ur previous arguements here but that seems to mean nothing to u. the people of odi stood up against obj and we know where they are today and what the result is. in what ways have u been standing up against ur ward councelor? do u preach what u do or do u do what u preach? if anyone is a coward, it is u for saying it aloud always without action. he who fights and run away, lives to fight another day. if we pray for their death and God answers us, is it not a better way of standing up against them. if u know a better way of standing up against these hoodlums, pls always try and live by example. teach us how to stand up against our corrupt men by example. @topic, we cry all days for the man made hardship imposed on us by these hardcore criminals. God, we are helpless without u. please fight this war for us. we all know about nebukadinezza. we also know about idi amin. we are still fresh with the days of saddam husien. God visit our leaders by fire. |

Is wishing death on another man or your enemy Godly? Regardless of whatever any human being has done, why dont you live God to judge? In as much as i believe Turaki was inept and corrupt, i still dont think it is sensible to wish him death! If you wish them death, na your wahala be that, at the end of the day, it is only God who knows who will die and when, YOU CANT! |

how many of his likes have u been able to put behind bars? I think its better the roads that kill the poor also kill the rich , I think it will also be good if he is unable to make it to Germany because it is too far. This man was Governor for 8years he did not build a single hospital. |
Re: Ex-gov Turaki Involved In Accident, Very Good! by desgiezd(m): 11:03am On Apr 15, 2009 |
A lot of Nigerians are maimed on our roads daily while many loose their lives as a result of bad state of the roads. Meanwhile, the likes of Turaki were in power for eight years without any positive impact. Now the president is willing to fly him to Germany for medical treatment using state funds, even when the man has not finished spending the billions that he stole. Obviously, the man can afford the treatment abroad which the hospital in Abuja has said is unnecessary. How many lowly Nigerians, who have sustained higher levels of injuries, had the president sent overseas for treatment? They are lowly and unrecognised, if they can die many times over, thats their problem, abi? Is there any hope that the poor will ever get to enjoy part of the commonwealth? I doubt it!! |

In as much as i detest the thieving politicians, i dont think it is right to be happy at this kind of misfortune for anyone. I would be happy to see his hand chopped off after he has been tried or direct punishment of any nature for his criminal acts but not to be singing at someone involved in an accident. It is cowardly and uncivilised for anyone to laugh at this in my opinion, remember 60 other people were involved in simlar situations. |

Imagine the President being a road map to an ex-governor to the best medical location for treatment outside their country. This is highly shameful first to our leaders and then to our country. Is Yar'adua telling me that Nigeria lacks the financial muscle to setup a world class hospital? Or that we lack the professionals to man such a hospital? Something is really wrong with our leaders. |

i_laugh: I hope your statement is directed at the looters that are resposible for the low life expectancy of Nigerians and who wants to use the funds of those they have impoverished to treat themselves from a car accident in a Hummer jeep bought after 8+ years of public funds looting. |

The thing is that we are just too tolerant as a people. Let all these leaders perish on the same roads they have negleted and willfully turned into death traps. If it were leaders like Fashola this happened to, I'll be the first on my knees fasting and praying for him! How many times have any of you wished that armed robbers are not killed by popo, or even wish them quick recovery when they are shot? Well, I must tell you I have more sympathy for most of those robbers than I do for the likes of Turaki and Ibori! Let them all drop like flies, including that Yar of a goat! Damnit! |

This is not fair. Someone gets into an accident; there is nothing "very good" about it. Why can't we make our kleptocrats pay for their embezzlement instead of just wishing them dead? |

There we go again, you are just a stark raving loco and a bleating oxymoron! MrCrackles, if u accept that our leaders are corrupt, u are indirectly accepting that they steal our money. if we kill criminals on daily bases on our streets for stealing ordinary maggi cubes then what do u wish people who steal companies and public wealth? life i think? the bible says, a thief comes to steal, kill and destroy. to bring this home, how many ppl are dying in nigeria on daily bases bcs of bad roads? how many have died bcs of inefficiency in our hospitals? how many can afford to travel abroad to get medical attention? egyptians died in the red sea for the isrealites to enjoy freedom. is it not better that we pray so that they begin to die one after the other rather than forcing innocent nigerians to untimely deaths on daily bases. the weapon of our warfare are not physical rather they are spiritual because we are not figting only blood and flesh but principalities. no sane man will wake up to face the blood thirsty leaders of nigeria rather our kneels can do the job for us. 99% of nigerians rejoiced over the death of abacha because danger was looming which could consume half of nigerians. if the death of all our leaders will give us the freedom we want, then so be it. u asked when turaki wished me death, what does he wish us if he refused to build hospitals, good roads, security and other basic armenities? what does he wish us if there is no employment? what does he wish us if he steals all our money? what does he wish us if he makes rubbish policies? |
