01ghostmode:i reside in abuja... For now, d only calibre of cadet ASPs are regulars... I.e b4 u can be recruited as an officer(ASP) you need to pass through their university (Nigeria Police Academy) its a 5years course (just like N.D.A). D short service program for graduates have been suspended for now... Nd yes, if a graduate should get enlisted into the force as a constable, he or she have high chances of being promoted to d rank of ASP. (there is also a course for policemen, who have there 1st degree. This particular course gives them d opportinuity to upgrade their ranks) but its kinda stressfull. 1 Like |

benswagtt:OK thanks. So what r d chances of a graduate getting into d police force if they start this recruitment Buhari said they shud recruit? And why would a graduate decide to enlist as a constable? Is it that it's easier to be accepted as a constable than to be accepted as an ASP? THANKS ONCE AGAIN. |

benswagtt:Is the next recruitment for cadets or recruits? Can I can get promoted faster if I enlist as a constable with a B.sc? Your answer will help a brother. Thanks in advance Sir. |
Re: Enlisting In The Nigerian Police Force As A Graduate. by benswagtt(m): 7:26am On Sep 25, 2015 |
01ghostmode:criously sir, the chances are kind of low because of the age. i seriously doubt if a graduate will still fall under the age bracket of the recruitment. I dont think they will recruit anyone over 22years... And if you try to reduce your age, they might find out with your primary sch certificate... (There is no way how someone who finished primary school year 2000 will say his is less than 22years). I still wonder y a graduate will apply for the job as a constable. Definitely, there is no how he will enjoy the job. Besyds, his clique will b d class of low I.Q (O'level holder). I wont advice any graduate to apply the job as a constable nd i c no reason y a graduate shud apply as a constable... There are also cadets in the academy who already have their 1st degree, but to reasons best known 2 them, they decided to join the academy.. |

Re: Enlisting In The Nigerian Police Force As A Graduate. by benswagtt(m): 7:35am On Sep 25, 2015 |
cotmag:yes. U will be promoted faster than your your counterparts who have O'level results. But it would be more preferrable if you applied as cadet Inspector buh i doubt if the NPF still run such programs |

benswagtt:So u mean for graduates, they only accept people under d age of 22?? plz clarify, thanks. |
Re: Enlisting In The Nigerian Police Force As A Graduate. by benswagtt(m): 7:46am On Sep 25, 2015 |
cotmag:i rather should hav used the word "frustrating". Lets assume a graduate gets the job as a constable... A coporal or sergeant who has an O'level result has constitutional mandate over him. Imagine an illiterate sergeant controlling u... When u c ASPs who got enlisted as graduates, the zeal and passion for the job will reduce.. Its not easy working as a boy to those who you are meant to be their boss. You will have to endure all that till when your promotion is due. |
Re: Enlisting In The Nigerian Police Force As A Graduate. by benswagtt(m): 7:52am On Sep 25, 2015 |
01ghostmode:not at all.. For recruitment lyk i said... I.e the O'level holders, the force needs young vibrant youths thats between the range of 18 - 22years of age. Then, when they still run cadet ASP program for graduates, the age range was between 24 - 28years. I believe next year's recruitment is strictly for the rank of constables |

I initially accepted his offer because I need a govt job. I will try and do my M.sc and take a lecturing job. I presently teach Math in a private school in Lekki, Lagos. |

l wonder how some people reason. how can you please everybody. no way, first please your mind. people were only condemning police because many people are talking bad about them, remember there are alot of good people among police officer. l meet a friend we camp together at NYSC camp who is a police officer but he manage to finish from university and want to upgrade himself. he said he usually preach to other police officers and each time his boss posted him on sundays, he usually call his boss and said oga. you know truly that l am a Christian and l need to be in Church why can you use a Muslim to replace my duty on sunday then on Friday l can relief him as well. he talk to his oga that, you said we are misbehaving if we were sent out for operation why are we not misbehaving when we need to be in Church or Mosque listening to word of God that will be the time we will be sent out for operation. l laugh, now is a best friend to that oga. he gave him chance to go for NYSC. therefore, if you think police job are for certain type of people then you are out of the game. you know you can contribute your best to develop this country. you complain about everything but you refuse to contribute what you know for the betterment of the people. The present apartment l rented is own by a police officer who is not even up to ASP by rank, is a junior officer anyway. he made it just because he know what is doing. some of us have forgotten during our NYSC year we are collecting 19,500 and some received lower than that depend on the year you serve but we are happily to receive the money and manage it. what of if you collect more than that. are you not going to survive pending the Government will remember to upgrade their salaries. my father use to say, a little drop of water that is regular can full a tank but only with time and patience. You know police job is pensionable? do you know after you serve the for 10years you are pensionable and you can resign and join your business? do you know you can be fortunate to be attach to peace mention in other country for some month and come back to pay you in millions? do you know you can be attach to one big oga who can change your story. l am not here to impress anyone to join and l am not a police man but l am interested in the job. let us put our ego down and embrace reality because time is going and opportunities and passing indecision man bye everyday only smart people catches opportunity. all is well. 4 Likes |

benswagtt:No dey talk non sense joor a subject that you have little knowledge about you just sit and talk trash....the military have N.D.A yet they recruit graduates....the police have several depts....let me tell you the academy is currently not running all courses utilized in the force. dentitry, medicine, engineering etc...they will definitely accept graduates...guy to talk nonsense...mind you the percentage is often lower and that is how it has always.....N/B the first graduates from the academy will be in 2018 so they will contd to retire commissioned officers and not replace till 2018? ....guy I sure say u never enter barracks let alone know shit about NPF....if you wan join police dust ur certs pray...God bless u |

He said 500 will be ASP cadet, 1500 for professionals and so on + inspector cadets too. http://www.leadership.ng/news/491825/n8-6bn-needed-recruit-10000-policemen-okiro |
