zandora: Okay. Pls what do i need for the FSW application itself |
Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by irondome: 10:06am On Dec 30, 2015 |
Akspet: What's your background like Education, Occupation, Work experience years, age? You would need a minimum of 1 year of skilled working experience to qualify for FSWC. |
Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by irondome: 10:13am On Dec 30, 2015 |
jarkbauer: For education, your ECA report (WES, etc), and School certificates. Some opined that you do not even need to upload your ECA as CIC would verify independently with the report number you provided, however, I uploaded mine anyway. |
Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by jarkbauer: 10:21am On Dec 30, 2015 |
irondome: The documents i sent to WES were transcript and certificates |
Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by irondome: 10:45am On Dec 30, 2015 |
jarkbauer: That's okay. I believe Zandora was referring to the actual FSW visa application itself (i.e post ITA). She opines that WES would still go ahead and evaluate your degree anyway and then issue an ECA report to you. When you get your ITA, you may not be required to upload your transcript on EE, so CIC would not even get to see the age on your transcript. Therefore, they would reckon with the DOB on your passport. You would have to upload your certificates, along with your ECA report, as a number of applicants who failed to upload their certificates were refused visa. |

britiko: Statement of result will fly. Don't know about 'to whom it my concern' |

I'm considering also entering the pool as well as my husband. It does seem that I can get higher CRS scores cos of age. Now, the issue I have is as regards fund. The stated funds for a family of 3 is in my husband's personal account which I've heard will not fly if I intend using it. Can we open a joint account ASAP and move the fund there? So that either of us can use it to apply, depending on who gets ITA? Then again, heard the funds have to be there for a minimum of 6months prior to ITA. Or should we wait till I get ITA and he transfers the money into my personal account and say it's a gift? Another issue is that my passport is still in my maiden name and I don't intend getting another one for now cos all my travel history are in it. Does this pose any problems? Jesusdway, zandora, Etfash etc |
Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by zandora: 9:30am On Dec 31, 2015 |
SlowlybtSurely: The funds don't have to be there for a minimum of 6 months but you have to provide 6 months average balance. If I were you I'll go with option 2 i.e. tell your husband to transfer the funds to your account and then provide u with a gift letter etc. As for the other matter, you should change your passport to your married name especially if the name on your bank account and other documents is in your married name. 2 Likes |

I intend applying for this... I have 2yrs working experience since i graduated in 2012. Am challenged with the proof of fund as i do not have up to the stated amount in my acct...about 2m or more if am correct. Can i use my dad's bank statement or does it have to be mine? Am applying for myself alone. |
Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by SlowlybtSurely: 1:30pm On Dec 31, 2015 |
zandora: Thanks a lot Zandora. I still use my maiden name in most of my credentials including bank accounts. Also used it for my ECA evaluation. Can I just go ahead with it? By the way, how are you settling in? Job and all? |

@zandora, JesusDWay, irondome, Slimmsyyetty, damkollins, solomonwis, dupyshoo, Tola73, RedCapChief, unibadan, Taiwoabo, other gurus I entered the pool yesterday as the primary applicant after registering on Job Bank. My challenge is this: while trying to update my details under "Education" section, I could not see any degree relevant to me in respect of the drop-down for Bachelor degrees. All I saw were Science, Engineering and Education degrees. Meanwhile, I have BSc degree in Banking & Finance. Kindly enlighten. |
Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by irondome: 11:30pm On Dec 31, 2015 |
fejeerow: No, you can't use your dad's statement alone. He would have to transfer the funds to your account and subsequently write out a gift deed to you. You may however upload your dad's account statement along with your 6 month average statement. |

40manlappy: I never really noticed that when I created my profile as mine was Engineering. I reckon you should go with "science" as Bsc is technically bachelor of science. You should probably not worry much because you would also be providing your exact discipline. |

JesusDWay: JesusDway, I have been following your posts on this topic and I think I need to get few clarifications from you. I just completed my MSc in the US, and was recently evaluating my options on what to do going forward. If i decide to stay in the states, it will take me forever to get a green card without marrying a citizen. Typically, for me to get a green card I will put in not less than 8 years of work period, that to me seems a long period of time. A friend of mine just whispered to me some two weeks ago about this Canada's work immigration opportunity. From my evaluation it seemed better than that of the US, at least you become a permanent resident within a short period of time, unlike in the States. I started following this topic and other sources I have been reading online, at first the process seemed easy for me, but after much research the whole thing seems very complicating. Please, I need you to shed some light on certain grey areas. 1)At the moment I don't have my Nigerian undergraduate transcript evaluated by WES, can I apply while waiting for the transcript to get evaluated? 2) My account has always been in the region of $1000, can I apply with my fathers account. Or how do I solve the problem of insufficient funds. Though I can ask my dad to lend me $15,000 just to boost my account, whichever way, what do you advice. 3) I discovered they need a police clearance, and unfortunately I don't have any. I looked over the FBI website and noticed it may take up to 14 weeks (approx 4 months) for FBI to process a clearance, please tell me what to do. 4) Also do you know the NOC for data analysts? 5) what province do you recommend that I should apply to. And finally, how long does this entire process take Please, I will be glad if you will try and respond. |

Doggys: I have always favored reference letter from HR department. However, If no such structure exist and you have to draft out your responsibilities/roles for your supervisor to sign off on, then you have to be careful to avoid "first person" reporting (e.g. I service the Generator, etc) In drafting your reference, 1. Come up with an exhaustive list of ALL your responsibilities (avoiding first person singular pronoun). 2. Look up CIC's listed responsibilities under the NOCs you are considering; and compare with your listed responsibilities. Settle for the NOC with the closest match. Be careful not to copy CIC's listed responsibilities verbatim, otherwise, that work experience would be voided. Ensure the reference letter details other required information (Salary, number of hours per week or full-time, start and end date) and it's printed on your company's letter-head. |

Fleshly: 1)At the moment I don't have my Nigerian undergraduate transcript evaluated by WES, can I apply while waiting for the transcript to get evaluated? No, you can't, as ECA is a core requirement for FSW category. You have to do your WES assessment before you can create an active profile. When are you getting your certificate and transcript for your masters? If you have it already, I suggest you only get your masters degree evaluated. CIC awards point based on highest degree obtained, as such, you would not be losing any point. 2) My account has always been in the region of $1000, can I apply with my fathers account. Or how do I solve the problem of insufficient funds. Though I can ask my dad to lend me $15,000 just to boost my account, whichever way, what do you advice. You can't use your dad's statement as your only POF, because CIC recommended that the POF has to be in the principal applicant's name. In your case, you can get your dad to transfer the money to your account and get him to do a "Gift Deed", stating that the "transferred" fund was indeed a gift. You would still need a POF document from your bank(6 months average balance) and may be, your dad's financial statement to prove that he could afford to such gift. 3) I discovered they need a police clearance, and unfortunately I don't have any. I looked over the FBI website and noticed it may take up to 14 weeks (approx 4 months) for FBI to process a clearance, please tell me what to do. You have to be smart with PCC and ensure you don't do them to early. CIC consider PCC valid for 6 months, but I wouldn't submit any PCC with less than 3 months validity. In your case, how early you apply for your FBI report depends on your CRS. If you are 460+, you should probably apply now as you would probably land an ITA under 2 months. 4) Also do you know the NOC for data analysts? Google " NOC data analysts" 5) what province do you recommend that I should apply to. And finally, how long does this entire process take Depends on your CRS and cash, if your CRS is above 400 and you could easily shell out $1500, go for Ontario. Otherwise, be on the look out for Saskatchewan. Few of the other provinces prefer applicants with a job offer within the province. How long depends on "how fast you land an ITA". However, the average processing time after e-application submission (post ITA) is 6 months 3 Likes |

^^^^ @Irondome God bless you. I noticed you answered those concerns I raised with an easy apt. Please are you in Canada? I asked because I do wish to speak with you on phone if that will be convenient for you. I noticed you said I should get my MSc degree evaluated, but I think Canada and US have the same GPA system. However, it will be easy for me to get my MSc degree evaluated, than getting my Nigerian cert evaluated. So I want to know if Msc Cert covers or overshadows my Bsc degree. I want to know so that I don't get into the unnecessary loop of trying to get my transcript from Nigeria, which could be very painstaking. Thanks |
