Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and embattled Senate President, Olusola Saraki had a private meeting which lasted for almost two hours. Though details of the meeting were not made public, LEADERSHIP Weekend gathered that aides of both the Senate President and the Vice President were not allowed to be part of the meeting.

The meeting which held immediately after events that marked the nation’s Independence Day at the Presidential Villa took place at the Guest House of the vice president in the Villa.

It is thought that Saraki might have used the opportunity to explain and complain to the Vice President about his current travails since emerging the Senate President. President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress, APC, have treated Saraki with cold reception.

Senate President, Bukola Saraki is being prosecuted for alleged false declaration of his assets by the Code of Conduct Tribunal, a trial, he and his supporters say is a witch-hunt.

A presidency source who divulged the meeting to LEADERSHIP Weekend stated that the he was sure that the Senate President’s visit had the trappings of a private meeting.

“I think the Senate President came to sound out and complain to the vice president of the unfairness in his trial since he was not getting the ears of President Buhari, more so that vice president Osinbajo was the lead counsel when former Lagos governor and APC’s national leader, Bola Tinubu was being prosecuted on the same offence of false assets declaration,” the source said.

It was unclear whether Saraki got the deal he wanted as even the vice president himself appeared helpless at the end of the meeting. Both men however departed the venue of the meeting full of smiles.

you people keep getting it wrong.Tinubu's case and that of saraki are two different issues. All in the bid to tie Tinubu with saraki to portray an image of the 2 being tried for same offence is totally wrong and malicious. Tinubu was charge for operating a forieng account while he was the governor of Lagos state. This he was able to prove that the said charge was totally wrong.he showed the court proof that the account was opened years before he ever became governor and that the account was for the payment of the school fees of his children and that prior to his being sworn in the account was shut down. This the court verified by contracting the bank. The CCT confirmed that there was no transaction on the account all through his tenure as the Governor despite the fake evidence the PDP govt fabricated ,he was discharged. Saraki's issues is totally different. He made false declarations of properties he never had when

Why do people call osinbajo a mere commissioner, have they forgotten that, life itself is a level, u climb the ladder step by step. GEJ was Alamesigha nd Obasanjo’s boy before, see where God lifted him to, Alaimeseigha will refer to him as Sir now...Tinubu is a political Father to the Vice president, but them no born am well make he call am him boy. He will always address him my excellence...Fashola was tinubu puppet before, they are now at the top. No man is an island, you won't get to the top without someone's recommendation. Pls, my fellow Nigerians, let's not get used to addressing the Vice President a mere Commissioner or tinubu's puppet...We all voted for Him alongside PMB to help put Nigeria in better shape...thank you!

Saraki's issues is totally different. He made false declarations of properties he never had .imagine you only have 2 houses 1990 because of being appointed you now declared you have 4houses and you were sworn in on the 1st of march 1990 only for you to state later on that the extra 2nouses where paid for in1993.this goes to show that he falsely declared an assets that was not his own as of the time of submitting the CCB forms .The second was under-declaring .This is usauly done when you have stolen or embezzled funds which you don't want people to know about.what he declared his tollaty different from what the he is being accused of having. The simple question is why Should he under declare and also over declare. The govt should just take over the differences in what was declared both over and under.Sarakis case is totally different from Tinubu.stop confusing yourselves

Werey, Ode, dindinrin, Oponu, Omo Ale, The last time i check the President is the commander in Chief and have the power to hire and fire the Chief Justice of Nigerian and also the AGF and those 2 will head and oversee the judicial commision.... Remember the case of Justice Salami? Who mastermind his sacked and forceful retirement?

Kini big deal? She would be tried in the UK and not Nigeria!! Ask your illiterate to get ready to be disgraced in court.
Yeah, she would be tried in London where it is nearly impossible to "buy an interlocutory or perpetual injunction" from one yeeebooo judge, I agree with the guy that said that Alison Madueke and James Ibori would soon get wedded in a London prison, cheers!
