Hi sorry for the late reply. I actually saw a white canary once with a mallam which was actually for sale, but it has been a very long time, that's the only time I have seen one. How is your champion doing?

Guys, you can catch canaries in Lagos. I grew up around Bode Thomas Suru Lere and there are canaries flying all over there. They are so small and heard to see, but just have a good singing male out and they get attracted to him.

There used to be a market right there near National theater where these birds and other nimble are sold, I am sure a lot escaped from there.

I caught a few back in the day.

My canary Evans, I bought him from Iddo market in Lagos. I used to catch a lot of these when I lives in Suru Lere when I was younger. A lot of these birds fly around Costain / Eric Moore area. There used to be a market right under the bridge in Iganmu, I think some of them escaped form bird sellers around there and started breeding.

By the way, Evan now lives in Delta and I hear he is a good singer.

Good to find this thread. I'm a canary bird lover too. Kept lots of it back in the days in Ajaokuta kogi state . I also caught some at Ejigbo area of Lagos in the 90s. Heading to Iddo to revive this hobby

How come it's funny if you enjoy what you are doing? Seems you are not a pet lover you can't appreciate their sings. Birds sings better than people barking

I lost my champion last year, it just got sick and died. I have got another one though but its not as good as the last one
