On this same thread...someone made payment without picking car, another made payment without having a contract. Trust me, many people will fall for d scam of making payment first and hoping to come and pick the car on a different date.
Or it could be a bad car that has been packaged, when u start driving it, u will not be able to meet up because of repairs, then when u default they will come and collect the car from u and u lose your down payment.
All na still scam to lure u in.

That is the most likely reason. Or there are other hidden charges. Morning boss. God no go shame us today.

I have a question please, who here is using a manual car for e-hailiing.

I haven't driven a manual car in years and had to do that for the past two weeks. My legs suffered a lot.

So how do you cope especially with traffic?

Manual is not hard to drive even in traffic... Just put on neutral then use your hand break to release yourself.

As it is now self I'm.feeling like my left leg is dead, that leg is just there doing nothing during driving hours this is not really comfortable to me any more... If not for the stress selling of a manual car I would have gone to buy one since but with manual car your entire body will be active which is good.

Wow....maybe it's because I haven't used it in a very long while. Those slow moving traffic were terrible for me. You stop for 30 secs, it moves for 15, you stop for another 15 sec ....

The job you described above is better than driving HP
IF.... capital if ?
IF it’s a job with experience and growth not cleaner or shawama seller. Cause we like comparing driver to gala seller or cleaners.
Why because number of years of experience matters ?
I started a job after Nysc earning 37k , after 3yrs I moved to another job 220k and promoted to 550k. I’m still quoting my years of experience with referrals till today. I have professional certificate to back them.

So compare that to a young fresh Graduate that picked a car for HP , 3yrs + 2yrs moving Lagos upandan?

Let’s not forget I’m referring to snrman1, asking about HP
I will advise he picks a job of 50k and get job experience / growth than to drive HP for 3years.
Work 3years, do certifications/exams and jappa. Cause abroad will value your years of experience.

The only people that should be driving are people that
1. Just lost their job and needs to feed and clean up before next job or business.
2. Fresh graduate seriously applying for jobs but tired of seating at home
3. car owners who need extra source of income. Side hustle.

If you like keep adding to your fleets of cars every December with the rate of inflation , increase in car parts and shitty fare by bolt, Na same hand to mouth.

Make una no allow people crucify me for here ooh grin grin

Bazoo...u are like Buhari who has suffered before but because he is now privileged has forgotten how people without silver spoon survive.

If this Jappa was that easy and simple as u r painting it, I don't think there will still be people in Nigeria. Everybody who desires it would have jappa by now.

U had money in ur account, u sold land, properties, and car, u had people that borrowed u money for you to raise minimum 8m for that ur jappa level. If u didn't have those savings, properties or people to borrow u. U will have to pay a bank or agent 300k monthly as interest (sometimes in advance) for them to borrow u the money you need to travel. How many average Nigerian has these privilege or access. Even after having the knowledge of the process?
Do u think everybody with a certification and work experience has traveled out? Even if they all have d desire....the main prerequisite for traveling out legally is ur dollars man, without that, u r just day dreaming. Rich men and their children don't wait for covid window or immigration opportunity to travel out o.

Alot of people do the things they do because there is no money or even good jobs but they must survive.
There are hundreds of thousands of graduates who have never got the opportunity to practice for one day. When u got a job of 50k, was it from that salary u used to do certifications that cost upto 300k each? So I am sure u had support, not everybody has such. Many even send money to poor parents and siblings in the village from meager salaries. Not everybody is lucky to have job progression like u did, in a normal society that's the way it should be, but this is Nigeria.
But still in this Nigeria, people have started from nothing, but small small they have been made organic millionaires, not until u travel out.
So I think ur approach should be advising and not cancelling, encouraging and not demeaning because u haven't even arrived yet.
Your level today is a taboo for other people. So how would u feel if someone kept telling u everyday that u r slaving and killing yourself working day and night, running 3 shifts just to make N2m a month. That all he does is chill in his yatch, travel, Casino and club at will.
The point I am making is let's all be grateful for where we find ourselves, most important thing for a man is to have a vision/goal and aspire for greater things in life. As we achieve one goal, we move to the next. Like u said some people have stayed in that abroad with their degrees and certifications but could only get cleaning and POS jobs. So change that attitude. It took dragging from Dru before u opened up to how u jappa but even at that it's ur choice.

Quit comparing, quit discouraging, quit demeaning. Just advise people who desire where u are how to go about it, tell ur story if u must, encourage others and bear in mind its different strokes for different folks.
Opportunities, circumstances, conditions, background, exposure and connections counts to success in life wherever anyone finds himself and in whatever he/she does.

Peace

You still aren't getting the point. Your problem is not leaving early or earning low, your problem is your working strategy.

Take for example, I was at Ogunnusi road, Ojodu yesterday and was getting trips with pickup at Ikeja City Mall which is like 25 minutes from there. Even though they came on 1.7x surge, I canceled them all. In a short while, I got a trip with five minutes pickup going to Protea Hotel on a 1.5x. Protea is opposite ICM which means that I was able to benefit from the surge in ICM without driving empty to that place. That trip gave me 1900 which I would have lost driving empty there to pick the riders.

It's not about the gross alone, the fuel and time spent matters. I don't leave my house until it's 9am and I must gross at least 25k with or without bonus.

Yeah, boss.
I got the point.
This empty driving I was talking self no be regularly.
Na once in a while when trip carry me go forbidden areas or where I know I will suffer DS due to traffic.
Well, I got all their points already and will definitely adjust.
Much respect, boss.

They are right tho, most important thing is that you’re keeping up your end of the deal with your partner and making sure you’re also keeping something reasonable for yourself.

Some drivers get all the scopes and format, they will still default on chikini money of 25K weekly and start telling ngbatî ngbatî

Na that part I no dey like at all...

Guys stupid, wicked and greedy drivers dey oooh... Them plenty pass good once self... Partners that are privilege to have a good driver that pays regularly should just maintain them.

During my renting days and one other thing I like Dru for is he'll ask me to pay for the days car worked in the week because there are some days car has to go to the mechanic for like maybe 2/3days... But there are some periods especially if repairs are carried out Tuesday and Wednesday all through I don't even borther I just pay full week because it didn't affect my weekend which is Fridays tru Sundays but if my car spoil on Friday, Saturday or Sunday if you see as I dey vex enh...

One of my partner then we querrel naaw he wanted me to pay full week whereas car only worked for just Monday and Thursday... I just tell the guy say bro shi shi even the 2days self you no go see... He look me with bad eyes me self return the lookgrin no time.

So those rentees aspiring to be owners should know the odds ahead of them b4 dropping their car for their own car.

If I'd raised the money I used in buying my car from rental there is no way I would have dropped my rental for my own car, instead I would rent my out and continue paying rent. There maybe no sense in this but if you're renting at a reasonable amount say 25k I see no reason dropping the car for any other car.

Owning a car of your own is good of but people should also be aware of the disadvantages it's comes with

I’m used to not having any uncle , I’ve been fatherless and uncless all my life.
God alone is my source and Godnecctor

make Uber/bolt a stop gap and never a career ... I stand on this point from day 1 till now
Because as he thinketh in his heart so he is...
Think, work , pray yourself out of bolt driving.

Let me go and sleep,
I no condemn anybody
I no look down on you guys (real hustlers)
I will rather drive Uber than beg one uncle for money
Please make una forgive me grin

It is well Bazoo...I like the aspect u say it's God connect. I have a soft heart for sad stories that's why I no go drag this matter again. But just know it's not everybody that have the opportunity of being retained in their PPA, or get a multinational job even after having MSc and multiple certifications.
Maybe u should be reading your post again before u press submit to make sure u aren't passing the wrong message.
God will grant us all our heart desires.

Good day guys. Kindly help me out with this. I had a trip on indrive from Victory estate estate in Ajah to off Orchid Road. The trip was 2080 naira. The rider made a transfer which I later found out was a fake transfer.
Since then I have reached out to her and she promised to check her account details. Later she doesn't pick my call again. She later blocked my number.

Her number is 08133161937.
I will appreciate if the house can help me reach out to her. Thanks in advance

Leave am... Him think say car owner's car no dey break down.

The greatest old against every owner drivers is reduced moral. Owners are not under pressure to work. If rain meet person for house work done end be that, if bills have been settled work done end, it other hustle dey go well you won't even remember weather Uber dey exist self, all party must be attended after all you're not paying anybody grin

What helped me continue even after buying multiple cars is Ajo. I did daily, weekly and monthly contribution, so if I want to give myself excuse for not going out, when I remember I have to pay daily, weekly and monthly Ajo, that tot will drive me out.
A lady posted how automatic deduction savings helped her save more than 1million in a year, that's also an option but nobody will drag u if u don't fund d account.
It's hard to maintain that drive when u don't have anybody to answer to, that's why I always encourage partners, especially car owners to do contribution, thereby u will be forced to go out when pay day is drawing near. At the end of the day when u collect your money, u can use it for something tangible. Why continue to drive someone's car and be giving d person 25-30k weekly when u can drive ur car and have that amount as additional savings? That way u scale faster.

But you made it look like manual cars don't climb hills when on neutral, it's just simple engage the gear and move.

But of course a car can't move forward if u r in traffic going uphill on neutral na. Haba...are u a donbrowser grin grin grin
How will a car climb hill on neutral abeg.
