Even if u put 10k for a 1k trip it will still give three options where the last one is about 12k.

If u put 2k for 5k trip, d last option will be less than 3,500.

So I guess what he's trying to say is that, drivers should use that guide to know a fare that has been reduced more than the ideal price. So if you put 2k for 5k trip and the highest option is 3500, and after doing the rough calculation, you get 5k....you shouldn't pick that request. It is just a guide. There are some cases that you get even higher fares than the ideal price. The major thing is; have a guide, so you don't get cheated.

Though my own guide is far different. For instance, a 30 mins trip shouldn't be below 2500, but following his guide, you can do the same 30 mins for 2200. I won't do that. It has to be 2500 or above, not below.

Started both rides already. Dropped of my passenger and enroute to drop off the package. Got there called the woman I was outside.

She called back saying I'd passed I should come back gate man opened the gate for me to drive in.

Abokina sorry it's past 10pm I don't drive into people's residence not even during the day let alone at this hour, sorry sir. No problem he responded.

Bossy lady was there talking plenty while they offload the bag and cartons, I didn't even answer her.

Madam, by the way, what's inside those bags even, at this point I don provoke... If you can't call your sender and ask her or pay me my money now I'll go into my car and drive away with that remaining luggage in my boot then you'll go get it at Bolt office yourself.

She thought I was joking, she was still talking. Madam you've 5min. I stood by my door waiting, there after like 1min I entered my car.

About 2min the girl came and was begging me to come give her my aza, I stepped out and she was asking of my details from about 10-15 foot distance away, I dropped my kuda account to her she complained. Madam that's the only account I've non other.

She brought out cash, and said, open your boot. I opened and she gave me my money. They carried the last carton out and then I left.

For over 2/3months now I have not driven I've always enjoyed my sanity so I'd forgotten we still have mad riders.

Stop arguing, it's something I hv observed severally, if you put a low fare, ( for a long distance trip), the last option will be disproportionately higher, that way, you know the trip has been doctored.

Picture 2 shows riders doctored fare, picture 1 is Indriver estimation from my position,. The same destination.
ideally it's around 3,400, if you factor in 2.2km and 12 mins costing from my position where I did a dummy order.
Moreover, my point has been, to guide you in making a quick decision to pick or skip

Lolz...u should have tried ur experiment with different doctored amounts let's see if d last option will still be N3,400.

You have a rider and driver account with indrive, what you should do is put different amounts in your rider account and see if the last amount in the driver app remains the same.

That will automatically put to rest this unending argument.

Thank you Sir. As for me, I have been in this business for more than 5yrs now so I pretty much know how much amount is fair enough for any axis of town from any point, at any given time. Because I use Bolt more often, if I am to open my Indrive, I am sure to quote same price I would have gotten on Bolt for the trip. If there is surge at that particular time on Bolt, I also factor that in. If distance to pickup is much, it also affects my pricing. So my decision is subject to prevailing circumstances. The difference in commission is my insurance if I meet unexpected traffic. I will never accept less than Bolt price simply because Indrive commission is 10%.
We also have to send a message to Riders that it's the same service, same car and same expenses we incure in offering the service, so it should cost them fairly same amount.

As for people that don't know how to quote or check if the fare is okay, just do N100/ km and add 1k ontop if it's a short trip. Add 1,500 ontop is it's a long trip.

Because I have seen many times rush hour VI to Ikeja and rider will put 2,500 and the last suggested amount will be about N3,500. Meanwhile ideally that trip will not be less than 4k.

if you don't mind a manual car, go for a factory left hand drive peugeot 307. Very rugged, fuel economy is very great, cheaper maintenance.
