ABUJA–Again, the Senate has deferred the scheduled screening of former governor of Rivers State and ministerial nominee, Rotimi Amaechi.

The action of the Red Chamber, which was the second time since the screening of the first batch of ministerial nominees began, was due to the inability of the Simon Anyanwu-led Committee on Ethics and Public Petitions to submit its report on petitions against Amaechi.

Before the Senate resumed plenary Wednesday, Senator Anyanwu informed the Senate President that the report of his committee which received and treated petitions against Mr. Rotimi Amaechi was still not ready to be submitted to the floor of the Senate.

The Senate President, Bukola Saraki, who presided over the plenary, asked Senator Anyanwu to ensure the committee’s report was ready the next day for subsequent treatment

If PMB can go into Villa after vilifications and defamations, what makes you think Amechi would not make the list. Some PDP senators are kin to milk from the saga, while some APC senators are ready to pay any amount, where is the masses interest? Amechi will be screen and APC shall remain in Rivers.

Until then!! Amaechi has lots of baggage!! He has already been indicted by a competent judicial commission!! All the three Rivers Senators are opposing him!! His own case is not like the other nominees who has so far been screened.
