The case is Nigeria is where we complain our leaders have failed us and still vote the same set of people into power.

Our fathers has failed us woefuly, we should try out another section of our society in leadership.

The situation in Nigeria is not the same so we should not expect similar results. The masses lack economic and military power. The political elite control the sources of wealth (mineral exploitation and export) and coercive power of the state. THEY form and control the political parties. Is it not who is fielded by the parties that are voted for? Besides voting is widely influenced by bribery, intimidation, violence, and even outright rigging.

Until the masses achieve a level of economic independence and are politically empowered (radicalized, if you will) they will laçk the force to project their will on the elite.
